Very courteous, reasonably priced, professional shop run and closely supervised by the owner. Responds also to input from customers regarding, for instance, how much do I really want to spend on this car given its life expectancy, etc. (I have old cars, both foreign). A little awkward to get there, definitely helps to have someone pick you up, though it's not too far from University and Snelling Avenues.

Had these guys take care of a bunch of overdue preventive maintenance items. They were competent, didn't keep the vehicle an extra three days, and didn't try to BS me into getting unnecessary extra stuff done.

I followed Brian when he left Loyd's Automotive to open
his own shop in the early 90's. He is the only "doc" my
old truck has ever known and he and Joe do a great job. I
highly recommned them whenever a freind is looking for a
good, honest and reliable mechanic.

I love my '94 Saturn (my first car!) but it does have
nearly 200,000 miles on it and is falling apart and one
day, started to pour smoke from under the hood. I took it
in Metro and not only were they friendly, knowledgeable AND
competent, they treated me with the utmost respect. When
we found out that the replacement parts would cost much
more than the car was worth, the guys at Metro got creative
gave me 3 options (ranging from $115-$890) on how to fix my
Saturn, depending on how much I could put into it. They
were understanding of my college budget and are the most
honest guys around. They ended up not having to replace
anything more than a belt and were able to get the car back
up and running THE SAME DAY!! Looks like I escaped sending
the Saturn to the glue factory once again!

Brian and the guys at Metro Automotive have been working on
my family's cars for the last 10 years. They are incredibly
flexible and always complete the work faster than I have
expected. They guarantee their work and have amazing
customer service.

I have used Metro Automotive many times in the last 10
years. I have always been really impressed with the staff
there. They are courteous and knowledgeable, and are always
competent. The most important thing about them is that I
can trust them. I know very little (read: nothing) about
cars, and I have never felt that they were seeking to take
advantage of me in my ignorance. They always provide
several options and don't push toward the most expensive one.

I call Metro Auto the "Mayo Clinic of cars." They are so great at diagnosing and fixing it right the first time. They aren't the cheapest up front, but in the long run definitely...because you don't waste time repairing the wrong thing or multiple things. Brian, the head of the shop, has been like a caring brother, doing what he would for his own family member. I totally trust him. He has also helped me from afar when I've been in a pickle related to cars. He's an amazing person and his shop is the best. I couldn't ask for more, as they are fantastic and highly skilled mechanics, a well run operation, a locally owned shop that has had the same mechanics since the start over more than 15 years. It's great to have really seasoned mechanics working on your vehicle and to know you are supporting a locally owned shop rather than a large chain. It's the best of all worlds.
