The mechanics at foreign Auto Service are very friendly and they take the time to explain to me what they either have to do or have done to my car. They specialize in foriegn cars so they have all the info they need. They work on Porches, Jags, BMW's, well anything foreign. I think they are great technicians

I almost didn't take my job in California because I had to leave the Foreign Service behind! Okay, that's a bit hyperbolic, but Stewart is an honest, competent mechanic. I have never had the problems I typically have at other shops, like finding the oil cap off after an oil change. He fixed the steering box on my Golf for much less than the dealer would have. Also, he has a couple of Rover 2000 TC's in his yard. Anyone who owns Rovers gets points in my book!

Thank Goodness for this part! I do not like statistics-gathering surveys. Anyhow, I don't exactly know the limitations of this place... my Volvo is generally reliable, but I've had them do brakes, muffler, an A/C conversion (to non-CFC), and they correctly and quickly diagnosed a post-accident driveshaft vibration problem that the body shop, the dealer, and the insurance company could not pinpoint.

Specialize in Volvo/Saab, but will work on any make. Great mechanics, but they are so busy you sometimes have to book a week in advance. When my Volvo 240 wagon died (for good) I "donated" it to them to use for parts, rather than sell it to a wrecker. It's been 5 years since I have lived in Minnesota, but I know a few people who still take their cars there, and say it's still great.

They are honest, fun and very hard working. Stu is always
informative about what is going on with the car, and takes
time to explain things thoroughly. They also help owners
prioritize repairs to make maintenance affordable in these
financially challenging times. I've been a customer for over
20 years, and they always stick by their word.

I have 2 Saabs and a BMW; all older than 12 yrs and I
can't trust any place other than the Foreign Service to
work on them. They are Saab/Volvo specialist but can work
on just about anything. I do some basic work myself and
use them to supplement and diagnose my cars. They are
always helpful with suggestion and advice and always are
able to get me out of bind when things get over my head.
They are really knowledgable and extremely friendly and
curteous. The whole group: Stew, Kris, Betsy, et al are
always friendly and competent. I would definitely
recommend them to anyone who is looking for a competent,
truthful and friendly shop.
