This is a family owned business off the main drag in Robbinsdale at 3900 Lake Drive, and is well worth finding. As a 23 year old female, I feel more than secure going to them with any car problems, and I know they won't take advantage of me. I have lived approximately 3 hours away from them (during college, and my first job), and I still returned to them even for oil changes! My whole family has been going to these guys ever since I can remember and they are, in one word, GREAT!

My family has been going to Fairchild's for basic service for years. They've always been very fair, very quick, very polite, and very reasonably priced. Recently I brought my car to Fairchild's for exhaust system work. A few hours later they called, explained the problems they had discovered, explained a few different options with the prices for those options, explained what they would recommend doing as well as what they would recommend doing if I wanted to spend less money. They had the work done by the end of the day. Another time I brought my car in, thinking I had major starter problems. They simply found a loose wire, fixed the problem in 5 minutes, and didn't even charge me for their trouble. My only complaint is that they don't do more major engine work.

I have used Fairchilds on about five occassions and have always found them to be honest..... courteous.... friendly... and except for one occassion they found and fixed the problem with my Honda. on the one occassion they were not able to find the problem but referred me to another shop that found and fixed the problem in a timely manner and for a reasonable charge... it was an electrical problem and a tough one to find...so have nothing but good to expound about their operation.. maybe I should not praise them too highly.... may find it difficult to get my car in the next time I need service

Fairchild's provided me the best service I have ever gotten
from a mechanic. They had trouble locating the problem and
just wouldn't stop until they found a probable problem with
my van, but they wouldn't let me pay them until I tested it
for a few weeks! On top of that they only charged me an
hours worth of labor where as they had my van for a day and
a half investigating the problem. They called me every 5
hours or so with an update, even if it was just to say,
"we're still looking for the culprit." Unbelievable
service... I would recommend them to anyone.

I have a 96 ford windstar that just stopped working on a
hwy. I asked the tow truck guy where a good place close to
my house was (just moved to the area) and he recommended
Fairchild's. We brought the van there and they spent all
day looking at it and finally said they couldn't figure out
what the problem was and said they'd try again in the
morning. The next day they called my wife and told her that
they couldn't figure it out and told us to take it to an
electrical shop that they would recommend. Before my wife
was able to go get the car she got a call from the shop
again. They found an extra gasket somewhere that they
didn't think was supposed to be there so they took it off
and the car worked fine, they put it on and the problem
returned. They said they weren't sure what harm the gasket
was doing but it appeared to fix the problem. She picked up
the van and was told that she couldn't pay for it until she
was convinced that it was working (they said to test if for
THREE WEEKS) and then they would charge an hours labor.
I'm not sure if the fix is good yet, but these guys are
honest and hard working and really nice! You won't regret
taking your vehicle there.

I was referred to Fairchilds by a friend when I moved here 7 years ago. They have never tried to sell me a service that my car didn't need. In some cases they have actually discouraged me from getting repairs that could wait or were unnecessary. They have managed to squeeze me in when an unexpected repair turned up. They have recently given me valuable advice when shopping for a new car. They have referred me to another repair shop when a major problem occurred that they were not equipped to handle. I have absolute trust in them.
