I appreciate the guys at TA's especially because they have never treated me like a hysterical and/or ignorant bimbo. They've gone out of their way for me a couple times, like once when my car wouldn't start (in January) because the battery was dead and I couldn't pop the hood because the cable was frozen (and my Honda's hood can't be opened simply by sticking a screwdriver up under the grill - a lovely anti-theft feature, but a real inconvenience when it's -20 degrees). They came to my office, got their tow truck down into the parking garage, and got my car started. They just generally treat me well, their estimates and prices are always reasonable, and I've never felt like I was being taken advantage of. They're good guys and I recommend them highly!

I started going to these guys through recommendations from another woman who used to do some of her own work when cars were somewhat less complicated (as I did). Not one of the mechanics in the shop (I think there are 2 other than the owner and general manager)treat women like idiots. I've been pleasantly surprised by their prices (pretty average, or slightly below - never cheap). A motorhead (man with 57 cylindar factor) friend of mine also gave them his thumbs up. They even talked me out of spending a whole lot of money at their shop.

This place has been in the neighborhood for about 13 years, and are always helpful. They are always ready to tell me that something is covered by a warranty, that it isn't worth fixing, that they could do an alternative fix for less (as, replace an automatic antenna that had broken off with a sturdy fixed one). They got a computer in 1998, so now you don't even need to give all the phone numbers each time you drop off a car. When they screw up, they admit it, and fix it right. They send out transmission work to an equally honest shop. In 1997 our Toyota Camry needed a transmission job. 13 months later the tranny blew again. It turned out something had fallen apart and blown it. Terry ASKED if we would mind paying $400, since it was out of warranty. We found out that he and the tranny shop were splitting the rest of the cost of fixing, which was at least $1200. It was out of the 12-month warranty on the tranny fix from 1997. As a female, I have had enough sneering from mechanics--and my husband is clue-less on cars--but these guys don't treat me that way at all. Since we tend to get a car new and keep it for 10+ years, they get to know the car, and know when to expect us in.

Where do I start? I don't even think of taking my car anyplace else. I've been on a first-name basis with everyone there for years. Half of them even know where I live. They've been known to give me a ride home when I drop my car off in bad weather. I once changed the oil on my vehicle and the oil filter I bought (from a parts store) would not screw on properly. I bought another and tried it. Same problem. When I told Terry (owner) about this he offered to let me try one of his and come back and pay him for it only if it worked. Who else would do that? I tried it and it worked. Then there was the time my car needed a new power steering pump. I stopped by on a Saturday morning and asked Terry if there was any way he could do it that day (I was leaving town later that day). He said the other two mechanics already had more to do than they would be able to finish and he was supposed to be helping a daughter move that day, but if I brought it in right away he'd try. Later that morning I happened to be going by the station and saw Bill (the mechanic) standing by my car with the hood up. I stopped and asked how it was going. He told me he just finished! You can't beat that! These guys are the best. I could go on and on. It's no wonder I am a completely loyal customer. In a day and age when old- fashioned gas stations are closing up left and right, this place does all the right things to ensure a bright future for themselves.

ive wasted lots of $$$ on other shops, (mainly tires plus on 37th n Lake, NEVER GO THERE, dishonest money hungry rookies who dont know what they are doing) this is by far the best shop iver ever been to and will never go to another. :)

Extremely helpful and friendly. They have consistently identified what is an important fix and what can wait. Prices are very reasonable.

T A, the owner, loves our PT Cruisers. He also loved our old Chrysler mini-van, but he did not like changing the spark plugs on the new design.

We lived in the neighborhood for years and had them service several cars, including a Geo Prism, a Dodge Intrepid, and a Ford F150 pickup.

I have gone to these guys many times in the last year and they have always been honest, very helpfull and extremely competent. All of their mechanics are approachable, honest and willing to explain what's going on. Rates are a little on the high side but well worth it for the quality of service you recieve. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone and will continue to take my business there.
