A major tire seller and oil change chain told me I'd need new front break pads, and quoted about $125-. Not wanting to bother A.T. for something so mundane, I set an appointment. When I came in, the mechanic told me I needed rotors, for much mor money. I said no way, and brought the car over to A.T. The owner, Tim, was out, but a mechanic who had worked for him for the past ten years said he was about to start on a big job, but he'd take a look at mine first. He pulled the left caliper off, freed it up, put new pads on both fronts, and gave me a bill for less than half of the original quote from the chain store - all in less than 45 minutes, and with no appointment. Tim is one of the few who I would never feel a need to check on. If he tells you something, you can take it to the bank.

I have been using AT Auto for about ten years. They're the best shop in Elk River that I know of. Tim, the owner, is about the most honest person I know. He and his staff will fix it the first time. He has taken time to fix things like a warning/idiot light on the spot. And to makea quick repair just before leaving on vacation.
