Terry is very knowledgable. We have taken our all our cars to him and he has not dissappointed us yet. We are always satisfied with the work regardless of which one of his employees works on our car. Terry takes a very active role in his business he cares about both his business and his customers. I would agree with the other survey " they are so good that sometimes it can be difficult to get in for service quickly"

I can't really answer as to if they respond well when they screw something up since I've never seen them screw anything up. They are sometimes priced on the high side but they do such good work that you're willing to pay a bit of a premium for first rate parts and expertise. Terry, the owner, is the best mechanic around that doesn't have his own TV or radio show. This is a very neat, clean, well-run little shop.

Terry and his son Derek run the shop and I trust them more than any other mechanic I have ever had. They have worked on my mother's cars for over 20 years and have always been honest and respectful. They will tell you what you need to have done now and what can wait. They also do warranty work so don't hesitate to take your car to them instead of the dealer. I had a bad experience with the extended warranty on my Durango and the dealer who supposedly was fixing things. The dealer did not do a good job and naturally when the warranty ran out, there was $3000 worth of repairs to be done. I refused to let the dealer touch it and let them know I would never be back. I took the truck to Terry and let him fix it. Even though it cost money out of my pocket, I trust Terry to get it done right and to thoroughly check out the vehicle. Not being a mechanical expert, I am never sure if mechanics tell the truth. That is why I will always take my cars to Dakota Transmission. They don't lie. It is a busy shop and you might have to leave your vehicle with them for a couple of days, but it is well worth it!!!

They have fixed problems that the dealer did not after 3 trips to the dealership.

Terry has taken test drives with me to ascertain problems and has advised when something can wait or if it is even worth fixing. The only one I trust 100%.

Very honest, very competent, and very patient with the less mechanically inclined. Prices are average to above average, but worth the service provided by Terry and Derek. I moved over 30 miles away, but still take my car here for repairs.

Very friendly! Drove the car to see what was wrong, rather than relying on the "check engine" machine. I was in town for Christmas and needed their help, they took care of me right away. They were great.

I speak as a former automobile mechanic and auto mechanics instructor (back in the 70s and 80s). I have a very good understanding of the car but don't want to do the work myself anymore. As a matter of fact, I'm not educated or equipped properly to work on today's cars. Anyway, I find these guys to be very competent and honest. Being a big time do-it-yourselfer, I hate to pay them just over $100 an hour to work on my car--and I have challenged them on the big repair bills. That said, I am confident that they charge what's necessary to keep good mechanics, a well-equipped shop, and enough profit to stay in business and take care of their families. I have been going to them for over ten years to fix stuff that I don't want to fix myself or for diagnosis and repair that's out of my league.
