Simply the best in Metro-Detroit. Honesty is job #1 with Heritage Car Care.

We initially went to the dealership because that's what my father-in-law always did with my husband's jeep. After deciding we didn't want to spend nearly a grand to fix a car worth probably half that much, I searched here on Car Talk's site. We took the car in and we ended up spending only a fraction of what the dealership wanted--skipping the unecessary repairs & overcharge--and it was done the same day. They are superfast & super reliable!

Heritage Car Care is the tops in Metro-Detroit. Their staff is highly knowledgeable and VERY friendly. Above all, they are honest. I have had my cars worked on over a dozen times over the years, and have been extremely satisfied each time. Dan, Ted, Diane, and the rest of the Heritage crew are top-notch professionals. I would recommend anyone with any type of automobile problem give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Heritage Car Care promises a job well-done at a FAIR price. Heritage is a 5- STAR auto shop in my opinion.

Heritage has worked on several vehicles I've owned. I've always had a great experience with them and continue to use them today. It's my pleasure to recommend this shop.

Dan at Heritage Car Care is simply the best mechanic I've ever met. He fixed my foreign automobile in a timely manner, even though I didn't have an appointment, and my cost was FAR LESS than than I was quoted from other sources. I am extremely pleased with the quality of Dan's work and the VERY fair repair charges. He saved me hundreds of dollars over another repair shop and my car runs like a top once again. I will definitely be taking my vehicle to Heritage Car Care for any and all maintenance or repair needs in the future. They even do oil changes for less than some "quick-lube" places. I had driven past their shop on my way home from work a few times and noticed how busy their lot and bays always seemed to be. Now I know firsthand why that is. I also was told they have been in business for almost 40 years, and that obviously says A LOT in these trying economic times in which we live. If you live downriver, or can make the drive, I'd say you'll be highly satisfied with your Heritage Car Car experience. Thanks to Dan Basinger for a first-rate repair experience and for his shop's extremely fair repair costs.

I took my car into a different shop to get it inspected. Turned out I needed new rear brakes right away, and they claimed I only had about 30% left on the front brakes. I went to Heritage to get my rear brakes done, and they did it at half the cost the first shop would have charged me. I just went back to see about getting the front brakes done in preparation for winter, but the tech told me I had more than 50% left on the brakes and he didn't feel right in charging me for brand new brakes. He told me I definitely have plenty on the pads to get me well through the winter and probably even the spring. I wasn't even charged for the time it took them to determine that. I appreciate their honesty!

Our Saturn Wagon had both a coolant and oil leak, and a crack in the pipe coming out of the catalytic converter. They explained the diagnosis (much better than we had feared) carefully to me on the phone, and then to my husband. There were a few misunderstandings, since we had the wrong information about which model car we had, but it was all handled very professionally. Got the leaks fixed and pipe welded, and we've been in great shape ever since (done in May). I'd definitely return for any other service.

Heritage Car Care in Taylor is downriver's best repair shop for my money. Not to mention, Dan and Ted, their Master mechanics, are as honest as the day is long. Plus, the shop's been around for almost 50 years I was told. That speaks volumes to me and my family. I hope they're around for another 50 years.
