Unfortunately every time I've had to have my car serviced at Shoemaker's, it has been with really short notice, but they still fit the car into their schedule and get it done that day. I've had more than one car fixed at Shoemaker's and I have never had a problem with any of the work they have done and none of my cars have ever been in their shop for more than a day if even that. Not only do they do good work, but they are polite and courteous.

I just love these guys. They were recommended to me by a
reputable used car dealer a number of years ago, and they
have worked on all of my cars since then (including ones
driven by teenaged boys.) I had to move from Kalamazoo and
truly despair that I will ever find someone as trustworthy
in my new location. I never felt that they treated me any
differently than my husband.

I was forced to choose between a valve job on my 10 year
old car, or get a different car. I chose to have Shoemakers
work on my old car, and despite a fiasco with trying to
order parts from Subaru, they were persistent and insistent
on getting the correct parts, and my car drives like a new
one. They explained things well, and were courteous and
even gave me a discount, because of the delay in getting
the correct parts, through no fault of their own. I am very
happy with their service and would recommend them.

I've taken my vehicles to this shop for over 20 years.
It is a small but well run place.
My Honda Accord was purchsed new in 1993. Once the warranty
was gone all work , except out of town emergency repairs,
has been done by this shop.
When I was looking for a used vehicle for my young, new
driver niece, who would be going to WMU I found one and
took it to be checked before I made an offer on it.
What Gary told me were long and short range issues was
exactly what my bro-in-law's shop on the other side of the
state said, and HE DOESENT AGREE with many people!

I've been taking vehicles to Shoemaker's for over 20 years.
They are always polite, explain problems and needed repairs
in as much detail as I'd like, and explain what any options
may be, such as alternate replacement parts or items which
could wait. They check out every used car I purchase before
I buy it--and no lemons to date. Gary and his mechanics are
always the best.

Gary is great. He will take the time to fully explain the
problems and the options. And he always lets me use his air
pump to fill my tires when they get soft, which is quite often.

Great work, Western Michigan University graduate. Very
personable owner.

I've had my daughter's Toyota Rav4, my son's Ford pickup,
and my old 93 Saab repaired there: they are a rare find
these days, honest and amazingly competent. Gary's
explanations of what is broken are thorough and correct. We
love these guys.
