We live in mid-Michigan and were on our way to New York
state. About 75 miles from home, our GMC Safari developed an
electrical malfunction. After my husband tried the usual
fixes, we stopped in Imlay City not knowing any shop for
service. Our first inquiry referred us to Imlay City Auto
Repair (Don is owner). We explained our situation, they had
us in within 10 minutes and diagnosed the problem in under
half an hour. The part needed to be ordered, and after a
phone call, they told us it could be there first thing in
the morning. We spent the night in our camper at a nearby
State Park and returned in the morning. No part. Don got on
the phone and found out that Detroit could not deliver it
because of backup orders. We needed to go on and chose to
drive during daylight hours because it was the lights that
were affected. When we returned home, we had the car fixed
quickly because of Imlay City Auto Repair's accurate
diagnosis. We would recommend this shop because they
listened, were analytical, were concerned about our
situation, were correct in their diagnosis. They did not
charge us for their time and felt very bad that they could
not fix it on the spot for us because of the part situation.
The shop was clean and efficient, people nice and competent.
They are just off Highway 53 in first block (west side of
53).
