Many years ago when we first started going to Steve for service, we brought our Ford in for repair. Steve drove the car and thought it was a certain problem. He worked on it most of the day...took it out for a test drive and discovered it wasn't the problem he thought it was...he completely removed the new part-did not charge us-nothing no labor...nothing! He stated it was his screw up and we shouldn't have to pay for his mistake. We knew then he'd have us as customers for life! And we've never been dissatisfied going on 12 years!

Steve and Tim (and a new guy now) are great. I went to them after going to several mechanics with a transmission problem. They figured it out and fixed at a very reasonable price. They almost always finish the work in one day and at reasonable cost. Most importantly, they make you feel comfortable about letting them fix your car (something many mechanics can't do). I can't recommend them highly enough.

Steve and his son-in-law, along with Avery, do the best car work I have experienced in 53 years of driving. They get it right the first time, stand by their work, and if it's something they don't normally do, can tell you exactly who to go to get it done to their standards. Best of all, they are really nice folks to deal with. The only drawback is that they work only on American [read Detroit] made autos. OR: Two thumbs up!!!

I came to this board to find a 'reputable' mechanic when Jim Bradley Pontiac diagnosed my 99 Grand Prix with a repair that would run me $900.00. They told me that I needed a fuel pump and relay and that out the door my cost would be $900.00. Of course this caused an immediate panic especially since the symptoms didn't seem to match the diagnosis. After reviewing some of the reviews on this board I chose to pay the whopping $100.00 diagnosis fee that the dealership charged me and pick my car up from Jim Bradley and take it to Steve Steeb Svcs. I explained the troubles, what the dealership thought the problem was, and felt confident when I left that whatever the problem was it would at least be less expensive than the dealership price. No less than 24hrs later Steve called me and informed me that he and his partner were almost certain that instead of the fuel pump and relay being bad that it was the mass air flow sensor. I was excited, even though the part was still pricey. They installed it and I picked my car up less than 24hrs after dropping it off and for a very fair price. It seems that the dealership charged me to put the car on the scope and when that didn't tell them what was wrong they began to guess. This is very poor form for any mechanic and Jim Bradley won't be seeing my car again. I'm pleased and will recommend this Steve Steeb Svcs to anyone who will listen.

When my V6 Tempo started litterally running on 4 out of 6 of its cylinders, i asked my autoshop teacher for a place he trusted. From there i was sent to Steeve Steebs, i hadnt ever personally had to get a vehicle repaired before, but not only did they Solve the problem, they were fine with doing a little extra work and still charged a Good price for what needed to be done, and a great price for all the extras that where included! They seemed very competent, as well as eager to discuss what the problem really was when i asked them, and layed out options very clearly and openly, no pushyness. Highly Recommeneded

while I don't look forward to repairs, I really enjoy going to see Steve and Tim. They explain every problem and only repair what they would repair on their own cars. I've often been to their shop because of a strange noise or creak, and they have always given me quick advice and helped me out, repair needed or not. A great shop.

Steve is really a great guy. I went to him about my Nissan, but he doesn't work on them, so he recommended a great place that did (Japanese Auto, 563 S. Main), while offering a lot of valuable information to help me better understand emission systems in general. He is very easy to reach on the phone and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any American label auto work. Thanks, Steve!

Steve tackled a particularly difficult job on a'95 Olds Aurora (with over 200,000 miles) my son uses while attending U of M; so, I had to work with Steve long distance (about 60 miles away). He was excellent to work with and very open to suggestions. He had not seen this type of problem (sediment in the fuel injectors) before, but he persisted to solve it. Initially, he replaced the fuel pump, but that didn't solve the problem. Then, he tried a variety of other low cost solutions, but they didn't work. He discussed it with other mechanics on line and they advised him to trash the car. However, he always kept me informed and discussed the various alternatives with me. When all else failed, he acquired used/re-built fuel injectors and cleaned the fuel tank. He personally tested the car for several days to be sure it would run properly and my son would not get stranded somewhere. His approach worked and the car runs fine. Although it took several weeks to solve the problem (which appeared to become his obsession) I don't think he charged me for all the time and effort he spent. I would highly recommend him. I believe he is an excellent, honest mechanic and I would not hesitate to have him work on any of my cars (which may happen someday because I have another son at U of M now)! P.S. Previously, he solved an electrical problem on the same vehicle and did it at a very low cost (I'm not so sure some other mechanic would have been so honest).
