My wife's 91 Saab 900 has been in their shop 4 times, twice to fix problems that the local dealer either: A. could not fix or, B charged too much to fix. The other two times the car was towed to K & N for a busted headgasket and earlier a trashed tranny that occured when the vehicle was shipped during a move. Every time the work was done on time and twice below the appraised price.

K&N is run by three mechanics; Nick, Kirk, and Don. They
work almost exclusively on Saabs, and really know the car.
If you want the job done right the first time, they are
the ones to service your Saab. I drive 60 miles to take
advantage of their skills.
I've been using them for 28yrs and six Saabs. I'm a very
satisfied customer. There may be comparable mechanics in
the Ann Arbor-Detroit-Toledo area, but I am not aware of
them. These guys are great.
I do a lot of work on my Saabs, but when I get stuck or
run into a problem I don't have the tools or expertise to
fix, these are the guys I go to. They are willing to
handle the occasional phone query, and patient in
explaining and demonstrating the work done on the car.
Recently one of the gas tank straps broke on my '95CSE,
and I called them to see if they had any in stock. They
did not, but Kirk told me that if one was rusted through,
I really should replace the other. I had looked at the
other strap, and thought it looked fine, but Kirk's word
was good enough for me, I ordered both. When I got
the 'good' one off, it too was very rusty! Thanks Kirk!
These guys are very customer oriented, and do not make
repairs or replace parts unnecessarily. They are not
cheap, but I save a lot of money by having the right thing
done the first time.

took the time to email these comments...if you own a
saab...like all of us...you owe it to yourself.....and your
saab...to take it to the guys at K&N...THE SAAB maintenance
people who can keep your saab running like it was
new...plus they are actually interesting, fun ,guys]..!

I'll probably keep buying SAABs just because I found the mechanics to die for,
not just because I'm irrationally attached to them. I've been using K&N for ten
years. I can't think of a complaint. They are skilled, timely, utterly honest
people. Once when I didn't have a ride, I spent a long afternoon at the shop
while they worked on my car and I found out that they're also very interesting
and kindly folk as well. Another thing that's not immediately apparent is that
they seem to have, over the years, developed a network of specialists outside of
the shop for the few things they don't handle. I had a fender bender and it
needed some frame work done. They referred me to a guy I never would have
gone to otherwise, and we chatted while he cut the frame. It was obvious that 1)
he was good at what he does, and 2) he knew SAABs inside and out. In sum,
these guys deserve a medal.

I've owned Saab autos for over 30 years because of these
guys. All cars have problems, finding a repair shop that
isn't a problem is the difficulty. They know 'em, they fix
'em, they have their own 'bone yard' for used parts and know
where to call if they don't have it. You cannot find a
better Saab repair shop for hundreds of miles.
