They did everything from simple tune ups to complete engine replacement on my Rabbit convertable (not Cabriolet). I wouldn't think of taking a VW anywhere else. The bus stop is in front of their garage. Transportation couldn't be more convenient. You can get a great latte just across the street.

These guys are GREAT! I took my car to Muncy's for ten years when I lived in Ann Arbor. They were unfailingly honest, competent, kind and polite. I felt like my car was in very good hands. As a female, I don't always get this feeling this at auto service establishments. Have you seen all of the thank you notes and letters in their waiting area? Apparently, I am not alone in my estimation of Muncy's Service!

I had good service at Bill Muncy's but was surprised that it was not any cheaper than the dealership. I needed a brake job and didn't want to pay the $360 that the dealership quoted me. However, I ended up paying $367 at Bill Muncy's and later found out that they charged the exact same amount for labor as the dealership.

I had a leak in the transmission system, so I decided to have it checked. This is the first time having my car serviced here, but I read good reviews on this website about them. It turns out that a few pan bolts were loose, so they tightened it up. They charged me the amount that they quoted ($64 for check up). Then they told me the torque converter seal was seeping. They were honest and told me that it was not a big deal at the moment, and that I could just check the fluid levels occasionally and fill it up if needed. They also told me that if I start to get bigger leaks in the system, then fixing the torque converter was going to be ~$600. It was nice how they told me all of the options and the seriousness of the problems.

These guys built up their solid reputation by offereing excellent service on Volkswagens, and though they do often have a bus or two out in front or a 70's era Beetle on the lift, these guys prefer to work on Toyota's and Hondas these days. Who can blame them? They do terrific work and have helped me troubleshoot quirky problems on my older model Landcruiser and have done great work on our Camry. These guys are sharp, honest, nice and deserve their great reputation. They use quality parts, will explain everything to you, even do translation for the mechanically impaired, and also offer about the best and most affordable pre- purchase inspection if you are buying a used vehicle.
