When my wife and I moved to Portland, ME this spring we
were realy concened that we could replace Dennis, Tim and
the other guys at D&D Auto in Concord, NH to service our 2
Toyota vehicles (one a couple years old, one ancient).W
We now live a couple blocks from Woodford Steet Garage
(Portland Maine). Although our experience has been minor
(inspections, tire rotations and repairs, etc.) we sense
that the people at Woodford's care about you first. They
are great to deal with and we urge you to try Woodfords's.
For those in the Concord. NH area, try D&D Auto. You will
not be disappointed. Imagine - two homest vehicle repair
shops only 100 miles apart.

John and Steve are extremely knowlegeable and honest
mechanics. I feel very confident in the work they have done
on my '97 Nissan 4X4. They were recommended by my sister
and we have both been pleased with Woodford Garage. I
appreciate the time they take explaining repair work or the
not having to do repair work. These guys are the best!

These guys are great! My husband and I use them for both
of car repair needs. They're super honest, professional
and knowledgeable. And very nice. I highly recommend them.

Always honest. Will often tell you that certain work is NOT necessary. They'll
often do little things for free. They are the best! And so very polite!!

as a woman i have felt taken advantage of by other repair
shop espesially the dealer, my best experience was when my
air bag light came on, i was near the dealer, so i popped
in, they reported the problem a faulty deployment sensor
and could be replaced for a mere $650, well fealing
uncomfortable i decided to hold off, they tried scaring me
with "the air bag will deploy at any time", now even more
nervous, i still left on my way home i passed the woodford
street garage, i decided to see if i could get a second
opinion, they checked my van out, they found
the "clockspring" was a problem, now still being nervous,
they actually told me "that should be covered under my
factory warrantee"(two year old van with 18,000 miles on
it) and that the air bag would not deploy as the with the
light on the air bag was not active. i called a different
dealer and had the van looked at, it was
the "clockspring", and was under warrantee, the guys at
woodford street garage are fair and honest they are my new
garage i drive over 15 miles to have them repair my
vehicle and will always have them look at things first.
THEY ARE GREAT, please use them as i would love to see
them around for a long time!!!!

I love these guys, they treat everyone the same, man,
woman, or child. they are great at repairing my car right
the first time. they are always busy, but never too busy
to stop and adjust my tire pressure, or check my oil
before a long trip. i hope everyone gives them a shot at
being their mechanics, everyone deserves to be treated
like this.

Super nice folks @ Woodfords. My husband and I have taken
both our cars there (Mazda and Honda) with good results.
Have had good experiences with them and have recommended
my sister as well as friends. Great to have honest and
knowledgable mechanics in the neighborhood! There's also a
bus stop w/in half a block if you work in town which is
very handy. They've been timely and fair. Very glad to
have found them! I highly recommend them.

They are patient with my car ignorance, never take advantage
of it, courteous, competent, and never have turned me away
when I've left the car in their parking lot with a begging
message on their answering machine, even though I haven't
yet brought them brownies.
I recommend them reluctantly because I don't want them to
get any busier, but they are definitely the best.

Maybe they are just good to me because I am putting all of
their kids through college with my high mileage old german
car, but I have not yet had a bad experience with them.
The most difficult part of working with them is their hours,
since I am always at work when they are open. It can also
take a long time to get a car in to see them sometimes,
since they are a little too popular.
Also, I have had a much better experience taking my old BMW
to them than I have had taking it to any of the 'foreign
auto' mechanics in Portland.

Both John and Steve are probably the best mechanics I have
ever had. There tirelessly debug, explain, pinpoint and
double check everything they do. They charge FAR LESS than
they are worth. I have brought them my '79 Mercedes Benz
300D, '84 Volvo 240, and '95 Subaru Legacy Outback. In over
4 years and 30 repairs, inspections, routine maintanence,
they made one small mistake, didn't quibble with me in the
slightest, and had me bring it back and fix it within the
hour even though they were slammed busy. When my life was
busy and I was overworked, they kept my cars running
wonderfully in a less than hospitable climate and never
made a fuss over everything they did. As the daughter of a
mechanic I know how much effort they put into their
business and hope they know, just how much it made a
difference for me!
