I have been going to Autometrics for 2.5 years. My family of 4 has 4 Volvos and
the Autometrics crew has worked on all of them. Their work is very good at very
reasonable prices. Don, who works the office and is one of the mechanics is a
real pleasure to work with. He has literally saved me thousands of dollars in
repair. When I talk to others customers in the waiting room everyone has a
great story to tell about how Autometrics has been working on their cars for
years and has kept them running at reasonable costs. They also have a social
conscience. Recently all profits and mechanics wages were donated to United
Way for all work done on a Saturday morning. Plus they got a local supply shop
to donate all of the parts used that day.

Ray and company have expertly repaired our SAAB, Toyota and
Honda cars over the years. Most impressive, though, was
when my son and I built a sand rail dune buggy with a VW
engine. We (and two antique car resto guys) worked
exhaustively to get that engine to run, gave up and took it
to Autometrics. Ray came out, said it looked like an
exceptional engine, took a screwdriver from his pocket and
had that engine purring in minutes. Yeah, he's good.

Update after 8 years: I still think they're great. A few years ago my son needed a cheap reliable first car. Ray sold us a 1999 Honda Civic with 160,000 miles on it. My son and I immediately drove it out to Indiana, where he lives, without incident. The car now has something like 270,000 miles on it and is still going strong.
Ray has done routine maintenance on our two aging Toyota Corollas, replacing at various times a gas tank, a wheel bearing, and a starter motor. I totally trust them.
