When I moved to Maryland,my S90 was covered by a warranty. A dealer tried to fixed a problem. I was recommended to Snider Auto by another Volvo owner. Snider fixed the problem and arranged for the dealer to reimburse me for the repair. Snider takes care of my S80 and just saved me over $700 on needed repairs to my Subaru Forester.

We've been going to Bill for years, through the long life of two Volvos. We are on our second and third Saab with him now, and our daughter took her horrible Toyota to Bill and now takes her Acura. We always get straight answers, competent diagnosis and repair, and reasonable turnaround time. I hear that there are great Saab specialists in the DC area, but it has never seemed necessary to look beyond Bill Snider.

Bill has kept both of our family Volvos running for a dozen years. He specializes in Volvos. He only does the work that is needed and gives us alerts as to things that will/might need repair in the future. His schedule leaves openings for emergencies. He has even given advice over the phone for getting the car started to save the cost of a tow.

Bill has been servicing my cars for almost 20 years. That is three Volvos, two mini-vans, and one full size van. He is the only mechanic that has told me that there was "no charge" because he wasn't entirely certain he'd fixed the problem. He regularly tells me what has to be done, what can be deferred, and what I need to do in upcoming months. Don't look for cheap work; look for thorough, high-quality car care to keep your car running for years. I recently disposed of a Volvo that was over 20 years old that he had taken mostly care of; there wasn't anything wrong with it other than a car that old is not safe on the Washington Beltway anymore. Snider Auto Service will be taking care of my vehicles.

Mr Snider is of the mindset that, If it ain't broke, don't mess with it!" He actually talked me out of about $1000 worth of work the dealer recommended, but he had his guys look at it and said that it will need to be addressed, but not for quite a while. When the time comes to fix it, he will. He also has always given me the choice on different ways to go about doing things. We have had the, "what it takes to make it perfect and what it takes to make it work for a while" conversations a few times. The bottom line is, whatever he says is the best course of action to take, I will take. I will never take my cars anywhere else and recommend him (unscoliscited) to everyone I know!

Bill and Dave did a fantastic job diagnosing the difficulty I was experiencing with my Ford Taurus' air conditioning. The problem had been overlooked by another mechanic. They completed an extensive repair within 24 hours, with a very convenient rental company nearby. While they were working on my car, they discovered an antifreeze pipe underneath the compressor that was rusted through from the inside. It would not likely have been discovered during a routine 30000 mile check up. They repaired the pipe while completing my service and sent me on my way safely. Their work and their professionalism was second to none. I would recommend Snider&Co. to anyone looking for honest, straightforward, competent and friendly assistance to maintain their vehicle.

Bill is a really good guy. He knows his stuff, recommends sensible repairs, and knows what not to touch on an old car, under the mechanics Hippocratic oath - First do no harm. They gave good advice, did good work, and had it done quickly. I will go back again.
