I travel the extra 45 minutes to take my Volvo to University Auto. I've been doing this for 8 years and it is worth it. It has been my experience that the owner, Steve Byrd, is a man of integrity-- he goes over everything with you (male or female), offers options or other less expensive choices, and has even given quick fix/repairs over the phone for an emergency. He also has a great sense of humor! His wife and daughter also work in the office and they do go that extra mile to accommodate the needs of their customers. Steve is also well connected in the quasi-rural area of Frederick, MD. The businesses that he refers out to (i.e., headliner replacement, air conditioning, body work) are also extrememly reasonable priced and timely with their work. If you have a Volvo that needs repair work done, without a doubt do I recommend this establishment! donna (p.s. although I am from Revere AND N.H., I do not own a red Camero!)

The woman screamed at me when I was asking about the price breakdown she gave me. I think she got upset bc she had quoted me like $500 less over the phone after she said she looked up the parts and blamed the price difference on not knowing the cost of the parts. When I asked her if she had looked up the price before she got mad and started yelling. I guess she didn't like to be caught in a lie but for sure does not know how to deal with people. I thought she was just a bad employee and than she told me she was the owner or her dad was! I was shocked! DO NOT take your car to this dad and daughter shop, who knows what will happen. I am happy to not go there again

I've been taking our Volvo's (740, 850, S70, V50) to the Burd family since 1998 and have received nothing but honest work, beyond fair pricing, and extremely competent service. I am so concerned with using a reliable business that I drove up to their shop from my home in NC when I had them pick out, purchase, and tune up my latest Volvo V50. This is a super humble and friendly business who has gone out of their way for me on many occasions (i.e. provided free rides to extended family, loaners, lunch, coffee, dog sitting, etc)! I couldn't disagree more with jerryj88 and SCOTT79's Car Talk reviews on May 10, 2013 (same person?). The fact that the woman who works there quoted you something different than the resultant price isn't uncommon in the auto parts business. Prices for parts can differ substantially from one supplier to another and the prices are also subject to change and/or increase. Thank You University Auto of Frederick! Adrian
