They kept a very mistreared '88 hippie subaru sticker wagon going well beyond it's lifespan.

Alan and Nancy make you feel like friends who really are interested in you and your car - I purchased a used Forester from Alan and he performed a major repair 6 months later at very little cost, something he did not have to do and I did not expect - FAE has made the expense and anxiety of owning and maintaining three cars a lot more bearable!

I recently had my car taken to Foreign Auto Excellence (FAE) following some serious cooling system problems that included water leaking from the engine. My brother-in-law recommended FAE, saying he had used them for several years. In short, I had a great auto repair experience with Alan, Nancy, and their employees. Alan and his team immediately diagnosed the problems (blown engine head gasket, leaking radiator, leaking water pump) and gave me a ballpark estimate of what the repairs would cost. It did take them a couple of days to gather all of the needed parts and repair the cars brought in ahead of mine, but the final outcome was worth the wait. Alan also recommended changing the timing belt, since the car has over 90K miles and removing the head and water pump made the belt change no additional effort. And what I though was a leaking power steering fluid reservoir turned out to be a hole in the hose, so they fixed that as well. My Honda now runs like new, the additional recommended repairs were worth far more than the additional $100 or so that I paid, and FAE met all of my (very picky) standards. I would endorse Alan and FAE without reservation.

Excellent shop. Alan and Nancy, the owners, are personable, likeable and friendly. On a recent visit, I asked them to check the brakes on my wife's Forester. They showed my what was causing the occasional squeal and said I didn't need brakes yet. They have also been great with my Nissan Frontier.

My wife and I had our 2004 Nissan Xterra worked on at this shop because of the reviews here on Car Talk. We were pleased with the price and the professional attitude. The work was done as promised to include the timing belt change and water pump replacement. We also opted (as we knew we should) to have all the belts, hoses, spark plugs, cap and rotor, and wires replaced at the same time. All this was great and done without any problems. The one issue we didn't realize at the time was we were not told that only water was added to the cooling system upon completion. We were never asked if we needed or wanted anti-freeze added to the system. I never thought that I would have needed to ask and assumed that this would have been standard for the work that was being completed. We never knew until we were having our oil changed at our local quickie lube, and were told that there was no anti-freeze in the system. Maybe this was an oversight.....I am not sure.

My wife and I have had our vehicles serviced by FAE for over a decade. Both of us are on the road for work constantly: we are high mileage clients. I can't say enough good things about them. They are a local family business who offer top quality service with honesty and integrity. They have earned my trust and admiration repeatedly over many years. Alan, Nancy, and the Guys are the best shop you can hope to find anywhere.
