I have been a customer of Brian and Steve since they were
in their other location in Elkridge near Commercial Tire.
I have never met two more honest, caring and capable men
who have now added other employees, among their sons, to
the business. I live in Eldersburg Maryland but even for
oil changes I will drive the distance knowing I am getting
the best of the best. I have referred many others to them
and they also have remained with them through the years,
loving the treatment they get there also, and they have
referred others also. I have always felt confident in
their expertise or know they will figure it out and give
the best advice possible without ever making it only a
profitable choice for their busines but instead the best
choices to pick from for the consumer. They also refer to
other business and you find the same treatment at those
places, i.e. body repairs, tires, etc. I always tell
others it is worth the ride if they want great repairs and
the kindest of service.

We've found Steve and Brian very pleasant to deal with. I
have an old car on which I am investing the minimum and
assuming it will die soon. They are great about doing only
what is needed on a car like this instead of milking it for
all it is worth. On the other hand, they do a good job
with the "good car" (my wife's) as well.

I was buying a used Subaru in Baltimore, coming from out of
town. I found these guys and wanted them to look over the
car prior to purchasing it. I won't go into all the things
they did for me here - it would be too many to list. I can
sum it up by saying that Brian treated me in a manner that
I've never experienced at a repair shop. He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and acted in a way that makes
you feel good about humanity, let alone car repairs. I can't
recommend them highly enough!

Extremely honest, competent guys. Best mechanics I've ever taken my car to.
Will always bring my cars to this garage.

Found my windshield wiper fluid shooters weren't working.
Assumed it was all the snow/ice blocking the way. Got nicer
out, still not working. Then I realized, I bet the guy who
replaced my windshield screwed it up. Turns out there was
plenty of fluid, and it was shooting fine, but the line was
somewhere inside the car, and the fluid was dripping out of
my wheel well. Ugg. I found this place on Mechanic Files, no
way else I would have, it's in a non-descript industrial
park. I called ahead to come in later the same day with no
problem; they didn't even let me sit down in the office,
went right out to check the car in the parking lot and were
able to just reach in and grab the line and reconnect it.
Sweet. No charge, and problem solved in 5 minutes - something
you could never, ever say at a dealer. Another positive
experience at an independent mechanic (pre-screened on
Mechanic Files only tho of course!)

When I moved to the Baltimore area 4 years ago, I found
these guys on the Car Talk website & they had terrific
reviews. I am so glad I tried them out, even though I have
to drive (or tow) a bit farther than I'd like-it is worth
it. They are so friendly, down to earth, and helpful.
They make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the
door. I am a 30 yr old female, so I know what it feels
like to be intimidated and/or taken advantage of at an auto
shop. I had some major work done on my Forester this past
year, and Brian made it a point to show me what they were
doing while the car was on the lift. They definitely go the
extra mile when it comes to customer service.

Brian and Steve are the best. I can't tell you how many
times there has been absolutely no charge for work done. I
am a teacher and single mother of two. Each of my children
has a clunker of a car. They let me know when the work is
necessary and when it can wait. I really appreciate that,
because I am on a budget and have to watch my money. I've
had work done for which they only charged for the part - not
the labor. Incredible! I don't know what I would have done
without them through these trying years of launching my
children (and their clunker cars).

I've taken my cars to Brian and Steve since I found them here on the Mechanics Files several years ago and have always been happy with the results. They have done the work well. Even when I had to correct them about a mechanical aspect of my Prius they admitted they weren't familiar. Everyone in the shop is always friendly and helpful. They answer my questions and I feel comfortable asking them. They have often thrown in easy work for free when they didn't have to. Their prices are very reasonable for the area.
I've never been to a shop where the customers were so happy to be there. I've had great conversations waiting for my car. Even met a lady that drives several hours just to bring her car here.
All around great shop. The only downside is they are not near public transport so you need a ride or to stay, but it is worth it to have them work on your car. I have heard them offer to provide a ride to a customer, so ask.
