We started using Foreign Auto Experts in 1993 when my wife
was having problems with her 1985 Toyota Camry. I had been
told that this shop was primarily for Hondas. Brian & Steve
gave great service and excellent advice on keeping the Camry
running. They also worked on the 1987 Toyota Celica that I
drove.
When the Camry appeared to develop more problems than were
worth fixing, their service was part of the reason we bought
a 1995 Honda Accord, so that they would be able to work on
it. In 1999 when the Celica carboned up after 185K miles,
it was replaced with a 1999 Honda Accord.
These guys consistently gave us great service every time we
had issues with any of our cars (not that we had many
because the Hondas have been very reliable). They always
provided as much detailed explanation about any repair as I
wanted to hear. Their shop was about 13 miles from our
house so I frequently waited on the repair/service to be
done rather than carpool with my wife. They were always
very accommodating in getting me on the road as quick as
possible. Their professional manner with every one that
came into the shop was exactly what I could have ever asked
for. They were always courteous to every one that walked
through the door. They always took the time to explain why
this amount of work should be done on a vehicle. In all my
experience with them, I never heard the type of story like I
heard at a dealer that "according to the factory you need to
have this work done". I never ever felt like Foreign Auto
was trying to inflate the amount of work that needed to be
done like I felt at most every dealer I have ever visited.
We got the 150K & 120K mile service on both our Hondas
before we moved to KY. Brian gave us the name & phone
number of a friend in Lexington and pointed me to this web
site in an effort to find some one to work on our cars in
KY. I recommend Brian & Steve whole-heartedly!!!

They are the best mechanics ever. I buy Hondas so they can
work on them. The are upfront about needed repairs and
don't add "extras" to pad the bill. They installed my
broken mirror for free because it only took 10 minutes and
the total was $70 less than the dealership quote. They
have taught me how to do minor repairs/ maintenence on my
car so I don't have to come to them to get it done. I
recommend them to everyone.

I've been using Brian & Steve to repair my cars for over
10 years now. Like others, I prefer to buy Japanese cars
so that I can continue to use their services.
In addition to the work they've done for me, they also
take care of my wife's car, and even took care of my
mother-in-law's (really!) car

Reasonable pricing; fair evaluations of required work. Won't perform unnecessary (bloated) work! These guys are great -- accomodating when needed, honest and pleasant to deal with.

I am a dad of a graduate student at univ. of Maryland in
Balitimore, living in California. My daughter calls and
tells me that there is a big puddle of oil under her car, a
honda crv. My problem is I am 3000 miles away. I listen
to click and clack, and I remember the mechanics file. I
put in her zip code and get a listing of shops and read the
comments. I tell her to go to your shop.
She calls me after her visit and tells me that Steve found
the problem in minutes and that is was a cross thred of the
oil plug, probally from her last oil change, he fixed the
plug, changed the oil, and charged her 25.00.
Considering the possible out come if she had gone to a shop
without having the comments from the file, we are both very
happy that she was treated so well. Listening to car talk
really paid off. Thank you from calif, My daughters
dad.

I have dealt with Brian and Steve since they started (and
before, when they worked at a dealership). Like others, I
buy Japeneese cars just because I know that I have someone
that I trust to work on the car. I drive more that 30
miles each way just so that they can work on our cars --
and it is worth the drive.
