I have taken my cars to Bob for the last 15 years. When I brought my car in for the first time, Bob told me what was wrong and then told me I didn't need to fix certain things. I was sold immediately. Trust and competence are the key ingredients to this man's work. I have never had a failed repair.

After 15+ years and 5 cars I've never been disappointed. They've done all kinds of repairs and services, from big to small. The price is always fair, and the service is friendly and accomodating.

Bob and his staff are extraordinarily competent, friendly, and --- most important --- honest and trustworthy. They have worked on five different cars for me over the past six years and have always been reliable, honest, and helpful --- especially in deciding whether or not a repair is worth it, given the age and repair history of the vehicle in question.

I have taken two cars to Newton Street Service over the
past eight years - they are outstanding! Bob ALWAYS takes
the time to explain what needs to be done, what does NOT
need to be done, how much it will cost, and why it will
cost that amount. Here's a story that shows the kind of
business Bob runs. Before I purchased my current car (pre-
owned), Bob looked under the hood, took it for a spin, put
it up on the lift. He had it for almost half-an-hour, yet
refused to take any payment! I have sent many of my
friends to Bob's shop, and plan on sending many more. I
can't imagine finding a better shop or group of mechanics!

I found Bob through the Mechan-X Files (as it used to be
called) after my previous mechanic retired. When I stopped
by to introduce myself, I liked him immediately. And it
didn't take me long to realize that his other customers felt
the same way.
Based on the comments some people have made, I'd have to call
myself a fairly new customer -- only 6 (happy) years so far.
Bob knows I'm cheap. I'll ask him to fix only the problems
I care about, but if he thinks something really needs
attention he'll explain why it needs to be fixed. I've
learned to trust his judgment, and I rely on it. Bob always
gives me a call as soon as he examines my car and we go from
there.
You can drop off your keys before the shop opens or after it
closes, and they'll take care of you. Bob maintains a couple
of loaners -- nothing fancy -- to use when your car is in
the shop. Just don't forget to put gas in them before you
return them.

I found Bob on this website. He's the best mechanic I've
ever used. He's smart, fast, reasonably priced, and he does
a great job.

I recently took my car to Bob, and he did a great job. He
explained what needed to be done, answered all my
questions, did the work quickly, and stayed within the
estimate. I'll go back!

My wife and I found Newton Street Service about 20 years
ago by word of mouth in our neighborhood. We took our cars
there until we moved away a year ago. Recently, we were
back in our old neighborhood and needed our car serviced,
and the owner Bob Chiacchio welcomed us back with the same
efficient, competent, and kind service he had always given
us. Many women are not comfortable having to visit a
mechanic, which is undestandable given it is such a male
dominated world. However, my wife, who is a professional
woman, always felt comfortable bringing her car to Bob and
his crew, because of there polite, patient, and
professional demeanor. In addition, women colleagues I
referred to Bob, came away with an equally positive
experience.

My first dealings with Tom, though I live a literal stone's throw away. I went in
for a non-functioning air conditioner, a bit worried that it could turn into new
condenser, lines, etc. and a $1,000 repair bill. Tom found a defective relay
causing the problem, cursed at Toyota's parts department for the $75 price tag
for the part, and had the car back together and ready to go in very short order.
With an oil change, I was out the door for $200. I will certainly be a repeat
customer!
