This shop works on only volvos, maybe 3-4 bays, are profcient, a little in demand so it will require an appiontment unless an emergency....could use alittle improvement in the PR dept. Highly recommend, however if you have a volvo 240 and there is something electrical wrong with it (circa 1970's), just ignore the problem..unless you are a highly sucsessful surgeon, or Bill Gates, then I recommend you have it fixed at the dealership

Actually, Paul is the owner but, is the best Volvo mechanic in Western Massachusetts. The people he has working for him share the same attitude he does when it comes to repair and customer service. I have found no other mechanic/garage that treats customers with such high regard. I wish all of my cars were Volvos'. Because this garage only works on Volvos', nothing else, it's hard to take your Chevy or Ford. The Volvo car in our family is my wifes 1991 940 Turbo. These guys keep it running in top form. There is nothing about a Volvo they don't know. The prices are most reasonable. Especially, when the job is done correctly and in a timely manner. I recommend Performance Motoring Inc., highly.

The only negative about this shop is the wait to get them to work on your volvo. If you can leave it they will fit it in though. They do a wonderful job. I would recommend them to anyone, especially women. They are the best mechanics in Western Mass. These guys know everything and more about volvos.

After hearing all sorts of horror stories about (ominous crash of thunder) THE DEALER, these guys were a pleasant surprise. I bought a used 240 Wagon from them and found it required some serious warranty work. (It's got 190,000 on it, so that's not a surprise.) They did the warranty work without complaint, scheduled appointments at my convenience, gave me a loaner, and really went out of their way to satisfy me. For instance, when the tachometer failed, they found it was a dealer installed option (i.e., rare) but searched for weeks to find one anyway. Among dealers they are really the exception that proves the rule.

Paul Curren is the Volvo guru of western mass. He sold me an old 262 bertone about 6 years ago with a new motor that is now pushing around my 245 wagon. His knowlege is unparalelled and i even told my (ex) girlfriend to take her 760 there. He has always gone out of his way to help me and although i live out of the area now i still get down there for parts and repairs. He is also very helpful and takes the time to discuss problems over the phone. His staff is very nice and are all car nuts. from fiats to fords they dabble in everything but volvo's come first/.

I own a Volvo 740 Turbo that has had so many problems I
can't even believe... but these guys always fit me in
whenever they can, they finish the job in record time, they
explain everything to me (which I love), and the price is
always reasonable. Wouldn't bring my Volvo anywhere else.
P.S. They love it when you bring them homemade cookies. :)

This is a fantastic operation. I have been a customer
since they first opened in the '80s. They are so much
better than the dealership where we purchased our first
Volvo. In addition to honest repair work (including
telling us when something was not worth fixing!), we have
now purchased three used cars from them. While they are
not perfect (as no place is), they even used to throw an
annual picnic for their customers before the town put a
nix on that--I've never heard of any other place which has
fostered customer relations like that! I strongly
recommend Performance Motoring to all Volvo owners, and I
don't want to drive anything other than a Volvo because I
am not sure I can find another place as good.
