I go to them at Arts Tire where they also do repairs. I've been buying tires from them for years. My mechanic just went out of business so I decided to go to them when I had a problem. Diagnosed the problem by listening to my concern, checking out the car - both driving it and looking at it - and fixed it at a reasonable cost. When my 195K Subaru gives out I'll buy my next car through them too.

Highly recommended- they are characters but they do know their cars.

Jim and Bob have serviced the cars in my family for years. Their dad worked on my grand-parents cars and Jim and Bob continue to work on both my parents and grand-parents cars now. I used them while I lived in Greenfield for all repairs on my VW's and even went back to them a few times when I lived 110 miles away in CT. I now live in NH and have a good mechanic but wish they would open a branch here.

I have used Bob and Jimmy both at Nap's and at Art's Tire for repairs on my Saab and Toyota. They have also done minor body work cheaply when I needed it. Both my parents and I have bought used cars from them. I no longer go to the dealer because Nap's hours are better and I believe they are honest when either I or my wife bring a car in.

This is the place to go if you want to return multiple times to have the same problem fixed. The prices are decent the first time but they charge you each time you come back to fix the same problem. If you have a Saab it's great that they have a lot of dead Saabs that they can use for replacement parts, but they never get around to removing those parts from the other cars to put them in your car, and they don't even tell you that they haven't done that until you appear for your next appointment. --Oh, yeah, sorry, can you come back? Sure, I have nothing better to do than to keep returning to the auto mechanic!-- The owner is very nice if you complain about your bill, and agrees to compensate you the next time you come in and says he will put a note in your file, but doesn't. Or perhaps the office manager doesn't read the note. I don't know. All I know is I went in for five different problems, I still have four of those problems and the other one, a taillight that was out, required four return trips (because they didn't so much as put their foot on the brake and look at the tail light to see if it was actually fixed) and a ridiculous bill. Good luck to these guys, I won't be seeing them again.
