Dave and the rest at Speen St. are the best. I had a Subaru Outback with about 150,000 miles and they did almost all the maintenance and repairs. I recently bought a new car (Toyota), and will continue to take it to them for general maintainence even though they are Subaru specialists. I am someone who has been burned by bad mechanics in the past, so I know the value of a good one. I've heard that the Subaru dealers will send cars their way if they are stumped on a problem, (although I don't know if that's true).

We have been going to Speen Street for about 11 or 12 years and continue to buy Subarus, in part, because of Bob and Dave. All of the mechanics are competent and friendly -- the overall experience is always positive. We recommend them highly -- they have take the angst out of having the cars fixed. We have recommended a number of friends, all of whom are very pleased. We wish they were open Saturdays, but they deserve the time off!!

These guys are great. They treat all of their customers with respect. Their prices are competitive, but their knowledge and experience, especially (based on my experience) when you're dealing with Subarus are priceless.

Cheryl, Dave and all the others at Speen St. are THE BEST! I trust them 100% to do the required work and only the required work for a fair price and do it correctly. They remember my name, my car and all the other little things that build a nice relationship. I like Subarus, but I love their service and will likely buy Subies in the future because I know the best mechanics out there.

Altho they are clearly Subaru experts, when they work on the family Ford, (which seems to always need more work that the Subarus I've had), they either fix it OR tell us that we need some dealer care/special computer-based program or data. This way we don't have to pay the outrageous dealer repair costs (oncluding the local dealer's usually $100- type fee to "diagnose"), unless we have to. And the Ford gets excellent care. They are the most polite, honest, and genuinely professional people I have known in 30 years of car ownership. Truly a WOW-factor place.

It goes something like this. I'm a do it your-selfer. I do my own oil changes, tune-ups, most repairs, tire rotations, brakes, and even have the ability to get into my cars computer to diagnose engine trouble codes. I only bring my car in when either time doesn't allow for me to do the repair, or I dont have the ability or tools. This was my 105000 tuneup. The "big" one that required timing belt etc. I wanted to make sure it was checked out by experts. For this visit, along with the tuneup, I had them check out other small problems, oil leak I couldn't find ( the dealer said I'd need a new oil pan gasket.) These folks inspected it, and found I was using the wrong drain plug gasket. But they took it a step further. They took the time to educate me on how a subaru one works, and gave me a few for future oil changes. Not only honest, but offered a solution for me. Now that's great customer service. What a great way to build a relationship. Lets put it this way, the dealer experience was not working for me. Over-priced, and often trying to sell me things I didn't need, or even try to pull the BS (which I got sick of) (long story). No spam here - If you need a Subaru Garage in the Boston Area, the folks at Speen St are the real deal. I travelled from south of Boston just to get to these folks. Oh yeah - They have free loner cars - so you're not without wheels forthe day. Chris

Took my '01 Outback there for my 90K checkup, just to check 'em out. They did more things than the dealer for about 30% lower price. Took it there for clutch issues, and they gave me a loaner car, and were apologetic/empathetic when it turned out that they'd have to keep the car over the weekend for a part that it turned out that not even dealers carry. Ended up being amazingly cheap, they were very approachable and caring, and they seem to really know what they're doing with Subarus. Top notch place.
