The radio fuse blew in an '87 VW Jetta I used to own. I stopped by The Benz Den (no appointment) to ask Dave for a new fuse. He gave me one. I went out, replaced the old fuse and started up the car. The new fuse immediately blew. I went back in and told Dave what had happened and asked if he'd have time to take a look at it. He said he'd be out to take a look as soon as he finished the repair he was working on (5 minutes) but suggested that in the meantime I look into the cigarette lighter jack to see if a dime was in it. Sure enough, when I looked in the jack Franklin Delano Roosevelt was starng right back at me (literary license, I know it's a profile, maybe the edge of the dime was toward me)!!!

They are very responsible, honest and dependable. They are excellent in diagnostics, estimating the cost of repair and are very accurate. I have never had to go back to them to redo a repair or service job. I would recommend them to anyone driving a German built car.

They are not as cheap as the corner gas station but they
take great care with all of their repairs and have a great
desire to fix the car correctly. They fix a lot of cars
very quickly. When you bring them a car it doesnt hang
around and its fixed right so it doesn't come back too soon.
They want you to drive it happily for a while so they can
fix other peoples cars. If you are interested in having
your car repaired quickly, correctly, the first time, so
that you dont have to bring it in more than a couple times a
year, then they are for you.

Had an Audi Turbo Quattro Coupe (the "Original"). I believe
Dave is one of perhaps two mechanics in Mass. who actually
understand the car and can successfully [fix more than they
break] work on it. Extremely competent and knowledgeable
on cars of the German ilk. Very pleasant to work with as
well -- ended up doing a lot of engine tuning, Dave [Clark,
owns the Benz Den] doing the mechanicals (head, valves,
turbo, plumbing, etc.) while I worked the computer magic
(reprogramming the ECU for the new cam, etc.) -- worked out
quite well.

I have been taking my VW's to the Benz Den for 5 years. I
was previously using a general "Foreign Car Specialist" who
is close to my house - big mistake. The Benz Den charges a
little more than the other guy, but it's worth every penny.
They know & love German cars, and are extremely competent.
I'd rather pay a slightly higher labor charge, and have it
fixed right (and properly diagnosed)the first time.
They take the time to thoroughly explain the problem, and
don't talk to you like you're an idiot. I have brought my
car to them for emergency work, without an appointment, and
they have made every effort to get it back to me the same day.
If you love your German car, don't play games. Bring it to
someone who really knows it. You're in good hands at the
Benz Den. I will always bring my VW's to them.

I called The Benz Den to perform a pre-purchase inspection on a 1995.5 Audi
S6 Avant. Although I live in New Jersey, the shop was extremely easy to deal
with and prompt in their services. Dan, one of the shop's Audi specialists, has a
deep knowledge and experience with the cars. I was most impressed by how
much time he took to explain the results of the pre-purchase inspection and
give me insights into Audi cars in general. If you have an early 1990's 200 Turbo
Quattro Sedan or Avant or urQuattro or a 1995/.5 S6, or any Audi, really, the
Benz Den seems like an excellent shop to service and maintain your vehicle. Of
course, the lot was full of W124s, but I do not have any knowledge of that part of
their business, having only visited once for an Audi inspection.
