Panos won an award from New England Monthly as an honest mechanic. His only "marketing" is word of mouth and his annual Christmas party for customers in the shop (you could eat off the floor. His wife contributes wonderful Armenian food and his dog Max performs tricks. Panos is honest and competent, finding solutions to problems no one has fixed along with becoming a friend to all his customers. One customer wouldn't accept her now husband's proposal until Panos blessed it. Panos is a find - an excellent and honest mechanic who is a compassionate individual. Unfortunately, he services only Hondas, Nissans and Toyota with his emphasis on Toyotas so he finds himself a bit like the Maytag repair man

If we didn't have Aram, we wouldn't have gotten the last 3 years out of our car. We actually considered naming our first child after him!

I've only been to Belmont Auto twice for minor work, but both times it has been a quick and painless visit. Aram, one of the mechanics, explains everything quite clearly, is very courteous, and not sexist. He also doesn't try to sell you parts/services you don't need. Regarding prices, although I've had nothing major done, Belmont Auto charged me $20 for a fuel injection service my local Honda dealership wanted to charge me $99 for! As a female and someone who knows very little about cars, I feel comfortable going to Belmont Auto on two levels- I trust their expertise and work on my Honda, and on another, they'll treat me with great customer service.

well i found these guys on the cartalk site and decided to give them a try. I had a very goood experience. like most shops they asked if I could drop it off in the morning but since i had nowhere to go without car to my surprise they agreed to make an appointment at one in the afternoon, and even tho i was late (1:15) they started right on it and had it fix as promised in one hour. They replaced the air filter, i actually appreciated that altho it was an unexpected added cost. they put genuine honda parts in it (their policy-- i love it), so i was okay with it. all in all i got the sense these guys are into doing it right and doing good service. car runs great (had a clogged throttle body). Also-- supposedly belmont's best pizza is next door, also another little cafe a block away-- and big surprise-- check out the olive bar at the "greek pantry" next door!!

I am writing this review after my third visit to Belmont Auto Repair (September 2004). Aram, who has taken care (very good care, in fact) of me all three times is a gem. He is straightforward and competent at explaining things. Moreover he is actually *willing* to explain things if you ask about them. Over the phone he can sound a bit put-off, but not so in person (I think that's an effect of his accent). Face-to-face he is friendly and patient. Above all, he is a quality mechanic. For example, I brought my Nissan Altima in because the 'service engine' light was on. After getting the diagnosis from the computer, Aram called me to see what course of action I wanted to take. There were two things the computer said needed replacing but Aram suggested a good plan of attack would be to replace one of them (which happened to be the smaller and less expensive one) because the error with the second one was likely being caused by the first one. I took his advice and, sure enough, both problems were fixed. On another note, Belmont Auto Repair was also able to take my car on very short notice when it wouldn't start. My only gripe is that they only accept cash. But for the quality of service, that is a piddly little sacrifice.

I have been a customer of BAR for 3 years and I have always been very happy with the quality of work performed on my car.

Aram did a great job and fast repair on my maxima, at about 20% less than what the dealership was going to charge. Of course, it's cash-only, but I don't mind if it's done right. Very conveniently located and has a friendly and honest attitude torwards the customer. Will do repeat business!
