I've had one mechanic there do almost all my repairs and therefore, this response is one that reflects his competence mostly. I don't know much about how the others are. He has worked on my cars for at least ten years. If this mechanic left, would I still go there, probably YES.

I have been a customer for nearly 15 years. They do all my
primary repairs. It is rare that I go anywhere else. They
are the only ones my wife will use, because she fells they
treat her right.

These guys are great. They've been able to diagnose
problems that seemed to have no possible cause, their prices
are always more than reasonable, and they stand behind their
work. They have no official guarantee policy, but, on the
rare occasions when they've failed to fix something on the
first try, they've taken care of it for free without a
moment of protest. They're good guys, they're super
competent, and they're reasonable -- what more could you ask?

This took place 7 yrs.ago. I replaced the timing belts on my '93 Legacy wagon the year before the repair
(@112.000mi.second set of belts). Water pump bearing was
tight, no weeping, so skipped the pump. Big mistake! Just
8500mi later in the dead of our severe winter, I started
hearing what sounded like a bad water pump. Stopped at Flint's Garage (specialize in Subaru's)and Mike gave it a listen and
confirmed it was a water pump. Got a call from Mike, same
day, saying the bolt on the idler pulley was badly stripped, and, even worse, was nearly twice the thread diameter as
stock. He bought a large Heli-coil kit. The repair added
$110.00 to the bill, but being a mechanic in my younger
years, I knew what was involved, so I was very pleased he
could do it at all, and the price was right if not cheap!! So now I have a 2001 Rodeo with an ABS light lit. Again, I'm going with Flints Garage (02/15/2011 appt.). I just hope at $50.00 per
hour, he can find the problem quickly and as cheaply as
possible. Reason being, the FRAME has rotted through completely right in front of the tow hitch. Found out online @
edmunds.com, there is a safety recall on 98-2004. I
contacted the FEDS 8 MO. AGO,BUT THEY ARE ONLY ENFORCING
TRAILING ARMS ROT THROUGH ISSUES. So I'm stuck. Can't afford another car, so to get my sticker, I can't have a non-functioning ABS system. Hence, repairing a doomed vehicle!!!

I brought my car here to fix the alternator. Not only did
they charge me more than twice for the parts than they cost
at Autozone, but since leaving I have found so many (some
very dangerous) shortcuts they took. My front right tire
(which they had to remove to get to the alternator) was not
screwed on straight or tight. The first time I got on the
highway my car started shaking uncontrollably. I pulled
over and the lugnuts came off without any pressure, and the
tire itself was a bit crooked. They didn't tighten the
screw on the alternator which caused my belt to slip,
squeal, and my power steering to die. They supposedly did
an oil change, but a week later I just did another one
(because they had screwed up so many other things on the
car), and the oil was BLACK and the oil filter (they charged
me for a new one) was old.
I would never take my car here again. And I would never
recommend this shop to someone. This is by far the worst
garage I have ever dealt with, and I do not appreciate the
shortcuts they took on the repairs to my car.
