Took my 96 T-Bird in to get front end checked out and an
airbag lite problem trouble shot. Figured it would take a
long time to get to it so I called home for a ride. Was
sitting about a block away at Frisch's and they called me
to tell me about what they had found and how much it would
cost. Finished my lunch and walked over to shop. The
mechanic met me at the door and walked me to car to show me
what it needed. Also complemented me on some work I had
done on the car. Was so impressed I had them do an oil
change while they were at it. Also they still had my
previous cars and repairs on file back to 1994. Car was
compleated well with in a very reasonable time.

My dad used to have his own garage & these are the guys he
now trusts with his car. So, if it's good enough for him,
it's good enough for me!
Also, it's a family owned business. Started by the pop, and
now the 2 sons run things. Always busy, but it's a big
enough place they can usually take care of a customer the
same day.

Employees seem to enjoy working there. The service bays
are lit by lots of old chandelliers, a humorous contrast
to the nitty-gritty of cars being repaired in a busy shop.
Mechanics are more than happy to take you to the lift and
explain what needs to be done. They seem to do lots of
taxis etc., which of course must be well maintained for
hundreds of thousands of miles. I have taken a Toyota &
Suburu there and they seem as knowledgeable about them as
they do American made cars.

The earlier reviews for Smith's Muffler are right on the
mark. Good work, reasonable prices, they will normally
work while you wait, the counter guys are "all over it"
and the kicker - in this day and age - is that they will
routinely take you out into the shop and show you the
issues from underneath while the car is on the lift. Old
School!

I love these guys. They explain what needs to be done, the don't try to sell unnecessary work, the get done on time and they have never charged me more than the estimate. They will also suggest cheaper solutions, when appropriate!

DON’T EVER USE THESE CLOWNS,, THEY ARE BORDERLINE CRIMINAL,,,THEY’RE A RIP OFF & THEY CAUSE MORE DAMAGE THAN THEY FIX!!
I gave my car to Smith Muffler to repair engine mounts, they broke the air induction box in the process. They would not fix the damage and didn’t want anymore to do with the issue. They failed to follow proper repair procedures for my vehicle.
I needed the front brakes replaced, I instructed them to use the existing brake springs already on the car (original Jaguar) and not the cheap spare set in the trunk. After getting the car back I noticed they had used the cheap spare brake springs in the trunk and thrown out the original set that I told them to use. They didn’t offer any compensation, their attitude was oh well,, too bad.
I needed front suspension bushes replaced, they quoted $450 for all 5 bushes. They did 2 bushes in 1 hour and charged $330 (they couldn’t do all the work in 1 day, as they did the O2 censors too, so I had to bring the car back), then when I brought the car back to complete the remaining 3 bushes they wanted $650 instead of the remaining $90. They refused to honor the original quote of $450 for all 5 bushes. I don’t know where they get their pricing from, but I’ve never heard of any mechanic charging $330 for 1 hours work. Hence the heading DON’T EVER USE THESE BUTCHERS,,THEY ARE BORDERLINE CRIMINAL,,,THEY’RE A RIP OFF & THEY CAUSE MORE DAMAGE THAN THEY FIX!!!
