These guys are great. Honesty is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a mechanic. Kansas City Auto Sport ranks at the top of my list when it comes to this. I am constantly worried about my car and take it there when I hear even the slightest noise. I have left there many times without paying a dime beacause nothing was wrong or because they fixed a very samll problem for free. I have asked them to change the brakes many times and they told me that my car did not need brakes yet so the recommended that I wait at least 3 more oil changes before having them replaced. I have never left there with the feeling that I got taken advantage of because I am a female. They always explain what the problems are and whether or not they need to be fixed immediately or if they can wait a while. I am almost afraid to buy a car that is not a Volvo or a BMW because I would not have this peace of mind with any other mechanic.

These guys are great. I have an '88 BMW which I've owned since new and which my 19 year old daughter is now driving. Naturally I want the thing to be in good shape but every mechanic other than the dealer I've had work on it has either been as expensive as the dealer or unable to handle relatively simple problems. Until these guys. One of the blower motors blew and the dealer wanted three days to fix it,at a cost of 500 - $600. They said they needed to get into it to figure out which motor it was, then order it and then install it. These guys diagnosed which motor it was without getting into it and had a new one in the next day - all for $274. It works perfectly and I've been back several times. Highly recommended.

After using several other mechanics I feel very comfortable using these guys. They are always very honest (I am a car hypochondriac) and always get everything done in one day or less. Once they had misdiagnosed my tempermental twenty year old Volvo wagon and made the additional repairs at significant cost for free. This shop impresses me over and over again.

I have driven Volvos for 32 years (6 in total, of which
three I own now). These folks have been my mechanics for
the last 12 years. Been through dealers and alternatives.
To me, a good mechanic is almost more important than a good
personal physician (maybe as I get older my priorities will
change, but I doubt it: the older you are, the more
important transportation is). The KCAS people have taken
care of me in serious and silly problems and I have never
had any reason to doubt their honesty. Though I might be
tempted to by my next car with a Japanese lineage, I will
resist that temptation and will buy another slightly used
Volvo because I trust these people so much. I might even
buy it from them!

I want to reiterate what has already been said about this
shop. They are great! One time I was hearing a strange
noise. I took my Mini to them and left it for a week (I
was going to be out of town on business) so that they
could try to reproduce and diagnose what I was hearing.
After a week, I came back and they said they couldn't
recreate the noise and heard nothing wrong. This was when
I knew they were honest. They could have taken advantage
of the situation and repaired anything. Instead, they
said, you're good to go and let us know if the noise comes
back. I've been going to them for 2 years and will
continue to go back.

I found them when I bought my first Volvo, a 1989 740
Turbo. They would take me back in the shop and show me
what they were doing, what was wrong. Then when I sold
the car to my brother in law, they continued servicing it
and keeping it running without charging him an arm and a
leg. Then I went and bought a 1999 S70 from them. After
3 months the check engine light came on and they diagnosed
it as a O2 sensor. $450 later the light was still coming
on. They worked on it off and on (without charging me any
more money) for 9 months and finally found the problem was
a oil leak getting into the O2 wire harness. After they
fixed that (again at no charge) the light went out and has
been out for the last 12 months. For Volvos, BMW's and
Land Rovers you cannot beat these guys.

I have taken my Volvo's to these guys since 1994. They have
always been patient with me, seeing me through a few bumps
and bruises (to the car, not me), trashed clutches, and the
every day annoying consequences of driving in a big city. I
highly recommend them. As a female driver, I am sensitive
to condescension from auto mechancis, and I can say without
hesitation that they have always treated me with utmost
respect and great humor!
