They never try to oversell and will, in many instances, recommend a potential costlier choice in favor of one that is less expensive and equally competent. Their prices are very competitive and the customer service is superb. This Stanfa Auto location is one of three in the southeast suburbs of Chicago. The other two are in South Holland at 16220 Prince Drive (708) 596-9292 and in Riverdale at 14402 Indiana Avenue (708) 841-4401. You can't go wrong with Stanfa, and that recommendation comes from 10 years of satisfied service.

A service manager often reflects the degree of customer service you can expect. The philosophy here is to recommend the best solution for one's automotive problem, not the most expensive. The work has always been first-rate and there is excellent customer follow-up, with reminders for oil changes, mechanical service and tire rotation. Computer records are kept of each cutsomer's repairs. This shop should get a Golden Wrench Award.

I love the boys at Stanfa. We started taking our cars to the
Stanfa in Riverdale about 20 years ago and then made the
move to Lansing.
Aside from being extremely competant mechanics, they are
always up front on what the deal is with your car and, if
you ask (I usually don't) will tell you what the cost will
be before they surprise you with a bill.
I currently drive a VW, and repairs are usually costly, but
I'd rather pay these guys than take my car to a dealership
ANY day of the week.
I recommend Stanfa to everyone. They might cost more, but
they're worth it. And, if you're a regular customer, you
find coupons for free oil changes attached to your bill.

I took a used car that I was considering for purchase to Stanfa last week. I do not live in the area but looked up a local mechanic on this site. I had wanted to take it to my own mechanic, but the used car place wouldn't let me drive it out of town.
DO NOT use these guys at Stanfa. Craig is very nice, and he got me in very quickly. However, he told me that the only things wrong were incidentals like bulbs being burnt out and some other missing cosmetic pieces. He confirmed that it was going to need to be aligned, but I was the one who told him that when I arrived.
This morning, upon assessing the car, my mechanic (whom I have used for over 10 years) said "did you buy this?" and proceeded to ask if I had a warranty. Now I'm in for $1800 of work. Had I known this, I would either have not have purchased the car or would have used all of the trouble spots during my negotiating process.
I called Stanfa just now to ask for my assessment fee back. The man on the phone totally punted the problem to Craig who will be in tomorrow.
