This Tuffy Automotive is run by a husband and wife team that is always friendly, efficient and stand behind their work. They remember my name everytime I walk in the door. They are an award winning Tuffy franchise, winning the highest honor of number one just prior to a March, 2006 earthquake that destroyed their business. Yet, they rebuilt and got back into business as soon as they could even before they were ready so that they could help their customers that needed it the most. I had a new water pump that was replaced at the shop but failed a year later. I took it in, they saw that it was a faulty pump and replaced it for just the cost of the labor. They have always let me know what regular maintenance needs to be done, but don't push me to do it immediately unless it is unsafe to drive my car. They have helped me get my car into a normal routine of maintenance which will help me continue to drive it well into the 200 K mile mark. Very skilled mechanics and just an overall great group of people. I recommend them to anyone who asks for a good mechanic in town.

They're great, honest people. A couple of years ago I bought a Mazda RX8, after having a 626 for a zillion years, and the gents at the dealership said I needed brakes at 34k. I took it in to Tuffy's on Wabash and they called within the half hour and told me I had about 50% left on my pads. I've taken all my cars to Tuffys and always got treated right. Christmas of 2005 they did some work on my truck, winter maintenance and didn't charge me a cent. The people that work for them are just as great. By the way it was a tornado that destroyed their business for several months.

I brought a used car in to have it inspected before purchase. I am a female driver and they were very friendly and explained everything they found out about the car. I did not feel like they were "talking down" to me. I felt comfortable with their recommendation that the car would be a good purchase.
