My family has three cars, and we have been taking our cars to Karn Automotive for the past five years. Their prices are reasonable, and they are very good at explaining what is wrong with car and how they will fix it. They have always fixed it right the first time.

Great shop. Had my brakes done @ the Firestone in North Riverside (coupon) just before leaving on a trip. 2 hrs into the trip my car started to shake and make a HORRIBLE noise. I turned around and limped my way home. I took the car to Karns in the AM because I didn't trust it much further. Turns out I had a tire that the lugs were loose on. We suspect that they must have been put on wierd and worked it's way loose while I was driving. They fixed it and didn't even charge me. They could have totally given me some story and I likely would have bought it because the noise was so awful and unexpected. I was very impressed by their honesty.

Amazing service! I had a car in mind to buy for my husband and had the dealer drop it off at the mechanic to have them inspect the vehicle since I would be driving 8+ hours to purchase the vehicle. They started by inspecting the engine and found that the head gasket was blown right away. They charged $25 for their shop supplies and labor. The dealer said they would be fixing the car and a few weeks later said that they had. The dealer took it back to the mechanic and they looked at it again. The valve covers had been replaced and they put "stop leak" in the antifreeze to temporarily fix the problem. The head gasket had not been repaired. The mechanic did not charge me for re-checking the problem and it saved me a lot of headache. Thank you for your service! Definitely a go-to shop!
