He keeps our cars running like new. Bobby and I both felt a little sad when I sold our 1978 Pontiac wagon with nearly 300 thousand miles on it. It always ran great and the new owner is very happy. Bobby and his son Barry operate as good and honest a shop as you will ever find. They are careful to use quality parts at least as good as OEM. Do try to make an appointment because they are busy.

Bobby is simply the most wonderful mechanic I have ever come across. When my fiancee and I relocated to Washington, DC, we lost the ideal mechanic: absolutely first-rate, honest, trustworthy, patient, and remarkably inexpensive. Whenever Bobby worked on our somewhat tired '89 Toyota Camry, we could always count on the solution to be simple, and the price to be less than we expected. He works hard, and is very busy, but he's such a good mechanic (and kind man) that he took almost fifteen minutes out of his busy schedule to explain to us why (and how) our car was burning oil (and told us not to worry about it, rather than suggesting additional repairs). We found out about Bobby through one of our friends, whose father swore by him. (At first, we took our car to a nearer mechanic--Lawrence Ashland, which Chicago Magazine declared "Best Mechanic in Chicago--BIG MISTAKE.) Bobby came to our rescue, and we've been recommending him to friends ever since. He appears to have a very loyal following. Even if his modest-looking shop at 2949 Central St. in Evanston is a bit out of your way, it's absolutely worth it. We miss him.

When God needs a mechanic, he uses Bobby. At Lincolwood Garage they never overcharge and never try to overstate the work that's needed. They are honest, knowledgeble and exceptionally nice. Being a woman, it is sometimes difficult to get a mechanic to respond to questions and concerns, but Bobby and his assistant are patient, courteous and respectful. I had an older car that was having one problem after another; they always were able to handle the repairs affordably and competently. They are the greatest.

We went to Lincolnwood Service, because my Hyundai Accent's brakes were making an awful noise. They looked at it the same morning I brought it in, and
let me know that it was just rust build-up from the bad Chicago weather. He
sanded off the rust and checked it all out. He also let me know when I would
need to replace my brakes but that I didn't need to yet. Then he DIDN'T CHARGE
ME anything!! They explained everything easily and were friendly. On the way
out, my husband decided to swing in with his Ford Ranger pick-up to see if they
could stop his faulty door ajar warning alarm (he had been told previously that
this was a wiring problem and it would cost hundreds of dollars to go through
and fix the electrical system). They fixed it on the spot with WD40, again for
FREE. We'll definitely be going back next time anything goes wrong and will be
happy to give them our money!

I called all the mechanics in Evanston trying to find an honest guy to work on my daughter car that was moving to Evanston. I asked "how much for and oil change" "$46 bucks" he says. Seems kinda high I said, well we lube it too. But there are no zerk fittings or lube points on this car I told him. He said they lube the hinges and locks. I think I'll keep looking for another mechanic.
