joe, the owner, is exceptionally honest. he treats your car as if it were his own. he is personable and helpful. he has always"solved" my problems with my mazda miada, but I have overheard him dealing with other customers who have become frustration with their car issues. he always is patient and with keep trying to solve problems. my daughter has an old chevy that she was going to "junk" because it kept overheating abouve 35 mph or 10 miles of driving. Joe put in a $750.00 part that he thought would solve the problem, guaranteing the work. Unfortunately, problem still occurred, he removed part as promised, and returned money. (He had not charged for labor) he is very self-effacing. don't think he dosent know his business. his mechanic will drive you home if youlive close by. no loaners. small shop. surprisingly, the oil change prices there are not bargain basement prices. I am cheap, and change oil elsewhere

Hollywood Auto is fantastic, a good vibration! Our extended families have been repeat customers since the early 1980?s. They?ve kept the new cars maintained and the used cars repaired and running like new. Joe Guliana is the proprietor, he and his team are professional and consciences. Many stores sell parts, many shops can repair, but Hollywood is a cut above everyone else. They take the time to listen, their commitment to excellence and having the parts or the repaired car when promised are what set them above and apart from the competition. We?ve NEVER had an issue that Joe or the mechanics couldn?t solve. Once over the phone on a road trip thru Arkansas we had to call and they told us exactly what needed to be done and what it should cost. Their as good as or better than Tom and Ray from ?Car Talk?.

Oil Change and Safety Inspection only $13.00. They brought me back to the car and showed me exactly what was wrong with my 2001 Toyota Camry. I've been going there for six months now and can't complain. They are very friendly and honest. They also give a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on repairs.

Based upon favorable review from Mechanics files I referred my daughter to Hollywood when she moved to Chicago. What a mistake. I have always worked on our cars and I know more than the average bear. When she went in for a bargain oil change, they told her she needed front brake pads and rotors immediately on her Subaru with 35K miles. I was surprised but skeptical, I had her bring it home for Dad to check. The rotors had less 50% wear (new rotors are 24.5mm and are safe till 22mm thickness, hers were 23.5mm) and did not need replacing. There was no abnormal wear patterns or front end vibration when braking. The new pad thickness is 3/8", hers were 1/4" thick. That means they were only 1/3 worn and not in need of anything at all urgently. I strongly feel they were trying to upsell her on service work. Very disappointed in their integrity. Time to try another Mechanics Files guy.
