I am a factory trained Volvo mechanic (1974) and worked professionally on Volvos, Mercedes and Toyotas. Except for not having the technical equipment necesary for working on today's cars, I consider myself a competant mechanic. Carl diagnosed and fixed a most obscure electrical problem that I could not find on my '87 Maxima. He is college educated, articulate, professional, and honest. I would recommend him to anyone.

Finding a reliable, trustworthy and reasonable mechanic is a daunting task. My search ended when I took my 1997 Ford F-150 to Carl to have a tune-up. The truck had not been tuned for 2-3 years and it started to run rough and it seemed like the starter was on it's last leg. Carl tuned it up, explained why the truck was running rough and said that the starter problem might not be the starter but a bad connection at the battery. He upgraded my battery terminals (which had been done a year earlier by the less than competent technicians at Les Schwab) and said that if the problem persisted to bring it in and he would put the money I paid for the battery work towards the repair of the starter. He is very friendly and he is very helpful. If you are tired of paying inflated prices at the dealership then give Carl's Auto Repair a try, you won't be sorry.

Carl is a true professional in a business that sometimes lacks professionalism. He's worked on my cars for over ten years now (VW, Nissan and Toyota) and has never failed to find and fix the problem in a timely manner and at a competetive price. We've had him plan out scheduled maintenance for some time now with both our current vehicles and have never had any breakdowns occur. Every time there might be a suspected problem brewing, it gets taken care of by the regular maintenance, insuring our not having to deal with the problem of being stranded. I like it that he's family friendly (my 5 year-old son looks forward to our visits since he gets to pick out a new hot wheel to take home each time) and always takes the time to talk about the car issues along with taking an interest in whatever else is going on in our lives. He's a great listener and he cares - two qualities rare in people, let alone mechanics. Be sure to check him out whether you're wanting to get a check done on a car purchase, routine maintenance, or are in the middle of a car crisis. He'll do what he can for you no matter the situation.

Carl is incredible. My family has been taking our cars to him for years, and he has always provided the best service. Carl is extremely intelligent and kind; he makes sure to treat everyone well. Whenever I've taken my car in, Carl and his crew have made an effort to fix any problem in a timely manner. Carl is always honest with me about what needs to be done with my vehicle. He's a great mechanic and an excellent human being. There's no one else I'd take my car to in the Boise area. In fact, much of my family has moved out of the Valley and still takes the cars into Carl's when there's a problem. He's just that wonderful.

The "check engine" light turned on as I was driving over the mountains to Boise for Thanksgiving. I found Carl on this website. He was the nicest mechanic I've ever met. He attached his scanner to the car and clearly explained the problem. He advised me *not* to have him fix the problem, since it would take him time to track down the problem, and ideally I would drive the car for a week to make sure it is fixed. He told me what to look for in a mechanic back home, and he didn't charge me anything. I would definitely take my car to Carl if I had trouble in Boise again.
