Steve McGuire owns the shop and does all of the work himself. He can help you with any car repair or get you in touch with a nearby shop that can help you. If he is driving and sees you stopped by the road, he will stop to help you for only what you want to donate.

My daughter was driving back from Chicago when the serpentine belt broke after 8:00 PM. Steve from Mike's Transmission was able to get information from my daughter about each pulley would turn freely, got the new belt and installed in on Interstate 80 that evening. 563-344-0444

I took my truck into mikes transmission for a head gasket and that's all I asked for and he was a great guy nice as can be and knows his stuff but by the end towards the bill I found he was fixing things I didn't ask him to fix which were on my list of things to do myself for much much cheaper instead of just a head gasket he charges me for brakes alternator and more and so turned out that the bill was twice as much as it should have been and I don't plan on going to him for my vehicles any more

Steve is awesome! We've been with him for years and won't look for a new mechanic any time soon. No matter what is wrong with our car or truck, he can fix it. We've recommended him frequently.

So sad to write this as Mikes Transmission was our favorite mechanic to go to. Love supporting 'small business' guys but regardless of the business we've brought him before (by not only us but also friends and family!) and the good outcome we've had, it'll never happen again. He once informed us that upkeep and maintenance on an exsisting vehicle will get you further than a new one with payments. So like we have so many times before we took him our car with $3000 cash in hand to fix what ever needed fixed & do a few additions so we wouldn't have any worries for years to come and he basically blew us off, makes himself seem superior to us because we didn't tow right or already (because we were stranded on the side of the road!) replaced a part (O2 sensor because that's what AutoZone told us!) he didn't think should've been replaced. I don't know if it's his new way, or we've just always caught him on good days before but his rudeness, 'everyone else must be idiots!', & inconvienced attitude just lost him a few customers! Shame that this is when calling the 'mega businesses' seems like a better option! Sorry Steve! We'd always thought highly of you but your demeanor was uncalled for towards us because we "don't live in your world". Customer service gets you a lot further than your work! Everyone can use a wrench, being a decent person with the ability to use a wrench... That's who I want to go to!
