Kyle is honest and understanding but very selective in what he works on. Iv'e been needing to replace my car for a long time and seeking his advice but he always seems to find fault with what I bring in.

Very pratcial in is explanations, gives us a time line about longevity of repairs needed, i.e. "Your brakes probably have about another x number of miles left on them, so don't wait too long to replace them." Always timely in his repairs. Honest mechanic. He's so busy with word of mouth advertising he doesn't ever advertise! but he's never so busy that he can't get you in on a timely basis. The longest I've waited to see him was a weekend but that's because my problem occured on a Friday evening so I couldn't get there until Monday anyways. Kyle always gives explanations of what's best for my car and my goals.

Kyle's the best mechanic I've ever gone to. I made sure that when I bought a used car that I took it to Kyle first. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else in Honolulu. When he says something will be finished, it really will be.

This is one good, competent and honest mechanic. That is the best compliment I can pay a mechanic. He has done right by my two cars(87 Accord and 87 Camry). It took me 3 years to find him and he is the only one I'll go to. I have been treated well by him the two times I have gone in for pretty major stuff. Once it was an wheel hub that he replaced. Second time it was a front axle. Both repairs were done in a day - each. I left the car in the morning and picked it up that evening. This is good for working people because it saves us time in not waiting for your car for a few days.

3 months ago I discovered I needed a CV boot on my Celica replaced. Called Toyota and got an outrageous quote. Came here to CarTalk and found Kyle being highly regarded. Struck a deal with Kyle and had the work done. This past weekend noticed grease leaking again. Took it back to Kyle, took a quick look and said he'll take care of it under "his warranty". I'm thinking that, that's awfully generous being that its been 3 months and over 3thousand miles, a nail or something could have dinged it. Would have been satisfied with a 20% dicount. On picking up the car Kyle mentioned that the first time he used an after market boot as Toyota did not have one available at that time. (Being somewhat of a shade tree mechanic in my earlier life I have no quams with after market.) Knowing that the genuine part cost more I offer to at pay for it. Kyle replied, "No my warranty". I then offered at least a plate lunch. Kyle, "warranty, enjoy your car, have a nice day". My sense is that Kyle has extreme pride in his work(backs it 100%) and has a very high level of ethics.- Not too common now days.

Kyle is the best. Eclectically amusing as well as competent and honest.

I've been taking cars to Kyle and recommending him for 24 years for all the reasons given by my fellow Kyle enthusiasts. He is a practical-minded, no-nonsense businessman who with his colleague Glenn provides excellent, timely, and reasonably-priced service. I trust his recommendations and pricing completely, and I rely on him for car advice.

Kyle checked out a Mazda Miata I was thinking about buying. He showed me that it was a salvage vehicle and some of the signs of the rebuilding. Saved me a great deal of trouble and $. Saved me, period.
