I am a female who knows a lot about what goes on under a hood, so I'm very picky about car maintenance and repairs and who does them. Klevin Jones (owner) and his crew at Flag Auto Service have taken care of all my cars for over 15 years. I have yet to have a complaint about the care and treatment either I or my vehicles have received at the shop. For example, my 1993 4D Ford Tempo XL A/T, a model not known for trouble-free performance, has been a winner for me. It still runs perfectly after 188,000 miles and gets 31 MPG, largely due to the regular maintenance it receives at Flag. (I just wish I had a good reason to sell it and get something newer, but it runs great and everything on it works, so why should I?) The guys are very knowledgeable (most are ASE), friendly, efficient and honestly priced, which is why Flag has a large repeat local business and county auto maintenance contracts. The shop is computerized and equipped with state of the art electronics; nearby dealerships and parts shops can deliver any needed parts quickly. The coffee is pretty good, too, and goes well with the brownies I bring the crew when I get any work done. I'll be moving out of state soon, so I hope I'll be able to find a new garage that will be just as good as Flag Auto Service in Kennesaw, Georgia, has been for me. They're hard to beat!

My daughter and I rolled into Kennesaw, GA late one night with concern about a groaning noise she had noticed. Her 1992 Volvo 240 sedan was loaded to the max for a journey to Yellowstone NP where a summer internship position awaited, and we had approx. 2000 miles to go. I spent the night fretting unproductively over possible solutions, but my daughter knew exactly what to do. From the Car Talk website, she looked up reliable mechanics in the Kennesaw area. She found two. The first one she called never answered the phone, so she tried the other, Flag Auto Repair. At first, owner Klevin Jones said he couldn't look at the car till the next day, but when my daughter explained her situation, he got her right in. He and his crew carefully searched for and found the problem, which was a broken shock absorber mount. He explained everything to my daughter in a very understandable way, ordered the part, and had us on our way by 10 the next morning. He even drove us to and from our nearby hotel. We found him to be very credible, he charged a fair price, and the work he did got us cross country with no hint of the worrisome groan. On top of that, he's a very nice man, gregarious in a good way, and his demeanor inspired confidence in us from the start. We would highly recommend Flag Auto and Klevin Jones to anyone living in the Kennesaw area, or just passing thru and needing a repair.

Okay.. They never lied.. but I can't feel I trust this mechanic. We had a car that we knew needed major work. I had it towed to these guys to ask them what it would take to get it back on the road. I explained it had belonged to my grandfather and after he died it then transferred to my son. It was a Cabelero (an ElCamino type car) and my son was looking forward to cruising around town in it. The mechanic looked at it and the owner called me and explained that the car was in need of more repair than should be put into it. He said that we could drop thousands and thousands of dollars into it just to have something else break on it and then have to spend even more on it. With his advice I, sadly, let the car go. He explained he could just take the title inlue of payment for the tow service and diagnostic fee. I, thinking the car was beyond repair, agreed. That was 2 or 3 months ago. Today on my way home from work we see this car (that we had been led to believe would be scrapped or sold for parts) at a local muffler shop. They had repaired it enough to get it on the road. I was in shock. I called the shop and asked them what's up and he said he did what was best for his business. He stated that he gave it to his tow driver as payment and if they would of worked on this car for us and something else broke then we would of "made use of his shop insurance" (i.e. I would of sued them.) Again.. they didn't do anything wrong, but I don't feel as if I can't take them another car - else they find it "not worth repairing" just to find another of my "not worth repairing" vehicles on the road again.

Flag has serviced all of my family vehicles for several years and it didn't take long for it to become the only place that I will go. Klevin is a straight-shooter who knows how critical trust is in the relationship with your mechanic. He'll turn down work if he thinks you don't need it. You always get an honest and experienced answer to any situation. Highly recommend.
