Ridiculously wonderful garage. I'm a first time car owner and Pete does an incredible job of demystifying what happens under the hood. He'll tell you if something's serious or not, he'll tell you if you really need a mechanic or there's another solution to the problem, and he'll spend a good amount of time answering your questions and talking to you about your options without charging you for it. Really, you'll walk away feeling grateful, educated, and undeserving.

My wife and I have been taking cars to Petes' Import Garage for almost 30 years and are still very happy with their service. We began going to them when we lived in Atlanta and have continued since moving 50 miles out of Atlanta. We are willing to put up with a great deal of inconvenience in exchange for the peace of mind that goes with taking our cars to them.

Good people, good price, good place, and most importantly, they looked just like me. You know, a not entirely reformed child of the sixties...

I was given a recommendation from a neighbor, and it was a great one. Both Petes are very friendly, honest and up front, great prices, and they were very quick about everything. They listened well and didn't treat you like you are stupid (as some do). They also spoke to me (female) the same way the spoke to my fiance (male). One Pete we dropped of the car with even offered us a ride to the train station (though East Lake is about a 15 minute walk). Great for Candler Park/Inman Park/Little 5/Decatur residents! We will definitely be going here in the future! Hours: 8:30 - 5:30, but they do have a box for after hours drop offs. The specialize in older Volvos and any year Hondas and Toyotas.

Pete and Pete kept my early 80's Volvo alive and running as long as possible. I was so impressed with his knowledge and integrity that I made sure to buy a replacement car that he could service (1996 Honda). Many times, I've dropped the car off and said, "do whatever you need to do", expecting to pay hundreds. I'm always amazed that they look after me and the car with equal interest, and charge no more than necessary to complete the work. These guys are a throwback to the days when mechanics listened, cared, and did honest work. I just wish they would work on my fiancee's 2006 Subaru (if they can't work on a particular make of car because of tools, computers or whatever, they tell you instead of taking your money).

Great guys, very fair & always make time for any repair or service that my '99 Nissan needs.

I have been going to these mechanics for over twenty years. They are the best, amazingly honest, and reasonably- priced mechanics that I have ever known or heard of. One time I was having trouble with my steering wheel and they told me over the phone what was wrong and how to add the steering wheel fluid that the car needed. I have a friend who went there and felt guilty for being UNDER-charged. Another friend went there for an estimate when another shop was going to replace his car's air conditioner -- turned out that there was a cord that needed to be plugged in that was disconnected when he had his engine rebuilt. Should I go on? Amazing place! Technically competent, they know their stuff, honest, and affordable.

This shop is great. Peter Peteet is way smarter than my on board computer and saved me money in a big way when he could just as easily have turned a bigger buck. I'm bringing them a box of cookies on my way home today...seriously.

I've known Pete Peteet since I was a kid. He's worked on my mother's 2006 Honda Accord since she bought it, and I bought a 1998 Honda Accord last year. shortly after purchasing, there was a motor that controlled the door for the heat and cold regulation that got stuck, and most of the cost was just for the part. it still had some hang ups after a few weeks, so I took it back and it just needed one wire to be flipped around, and he didn't charge me until it was running perfectly. I'm due for an oil change, so I'll be going back soon. the Petes are the best when it comes to cars. As long as I live in atlanta, I'll only have cars Pete can work on.
