Ed's garage is nothing fancy but he has proven to be very honest and competant. I first went to see him with my '71 Chevelle after driving to Florida from California. I pulled into his small lot and saw a busy and cluttered shop. His shop had that lived-in look. I wasn't sure about handing my car over, but I did. When the time came to pick it up, Ed called and explained it was ready. I asked him how much. He said $1000.00--I was stunned. After a moment of silence he laughed and said, "just kidding. It makes the real price sound better." The tune-up was %10 of that with lots of extra care thrown in--tightening bolts and checking the chassis etc.. I had just spent $300 on less work at %&*@#'s shop in California. The next time I went to see Ed it was my headlights. He was very busy but supplied advice and his own tools for me to change my dimmer switch--all during his lunch hour. When asked him what I owed him he said, "five bucks." When I didn't have that he said, "just add it to the next bill!!!!" I highly recommend Ed Bowman. And if you see him, tell him the five bucks is in the mail.
