downside: this shop is not metro accessible, and their
prices are a tad high.
upside: they're super knowledgeable and super willing to
explain repairs. as a woman i've never gotten the vibe
that they're talking down to me as if i can't possibly
comprehend car repair. they've always done very careful
work.

I have gone to this shop for several years. They are
extremely competent and customer-oriented; the interaction
is professional. For female customers, I highly recommend
this shop as respectful and honest. I have recommended
the shop to friends and they have always been pleased.

These guys are 100% professional and 100% honest. Have
been going there since 1999 (had a Honda Accord then).
Highly recommended. Very reasonable prices.

Mark is excellent. He and his brother are co-owners. He is
the front office guy and his brother is the head mechanic.
He explains things in a way I can understand, offers
excellent advice about how to prioritize my repairs--when I
can't afford to do everything at once, he'll tell me
straight what NEEDS fixing to be safe and what can wait
awhile. His estimates are always accurate. He also is
great at building long term relationships with customers.
He looked at a used car I was hoping to buy from a
dealership and he did a thorough examination, gave good
advice, and didn't make any money in the process. On that
same car, he looked at a problem for me a few months after I
bought it and instead of making money on the repair himself,
he diagnosed the problem and encouraged me to take it back
to the dealer and make them fix it without charge. I really
can't recommend these guys enough.

Have been going to Finley's, now10th Street, for 5 years.
Great service---responsive & honest.
Especialy appreciate the clearly notated bills with
recommendations---computer generated that become part of my
ongoing record---simplifying the planning for future work, tracking
work completed and costs.

My husband and I have been living on Capitol Hill for 2 years now, and both of us take our cars to 10th Street Auto for regular maintenance and repairs. Both of our cars are on the old side (a 13 year old Honda Civic, and a 9 year old Ford Escort wagon), so we've had a number of substantial repairs performed at the shop. The guys are always very courteous and helpful, and willing to explain details of a problem or a repair, whether to me or to my husband. And they seem to truly value their regular customers. For example, after a having about 3 repair jobs done between our 2 cars in one month (a bad month!), the next time we came in, the guys did the job just for the cost of parts (no labor charge). I would definitely recommend them to any one living on Capitol Hill.
