I have owned the "big three"... you know..Honda, Toyota, and Nissan, and these guys have kept them all running well beyond the 100K marker. Bret has even diagnosed my Honda (180Kmiles) after listening to it on my cell phone while I was out of state, on the road during an emergency. I have a world of confidence in this outfit, and feel their intuitiveness when it comes to the above breed of cars is not likely to be surpassed in the local area.

We have taken our cars to Elm Motors since we have been in CT. We don't care what it costs, but honesty is the most important thing, along with fixing it right. The folks at Elm Motors do not do anything that they don't discuss with you first or work that they think does not seem to be necessary at the time--such as platinum plug changes when the engine is running fine, or brakes if they measure fine, even if you have never had a break job done no matter what the milage, etc. They will always go on a drive with you--FREE as a drop in, to try and hear the noise you hear. They don't do a lot of guessing at problems, they want to fix what is necessary, which is especially imorportant if as we do, drive cars that are over 10 years old and have no real value as assests (the State of Connecticut still charges us property tax on them though--always more than what we spend in repairs each year!) Yea for Elm Motors--the last guys in Connecticut that are not related to a govenment official who is in jail or on trial! Judith H. Peck

Phil knows his stuff. The hard stuff he blames on Bret |;-) This shop could have taken me for expensive repairs on an older vehicle, but kindly and honestly talked me out of it. Earned my repeat business. Great Guys!

These are the most refreshingly honest guys in the business. They will never do any work that does not need to be done and are punctual, clean and fairly priced.I have dealt with them for years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've taken my Nissan Maxima to Elm motors several times for a variety of reasons - ranging from straight oil changes to replacing the exhaust system. These guys have been nothing but straight, honest, hard working, and VERY reasonably priced. I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking to service primarily an Asian model car.

I have been exclusively using Elm Motors for all of my Dodge Truck care needs for the past 5 years. Bret and Brad treat me with respect, courtesy and a practical nature. You never feel as though you are being sold into something. My mechanic ability is extremely limited, they know it, and have never taken advantage of it. They use easy to understand language and allow you to decide for yourself. I now send my wife to them with her PT Cruiser. I trust them to treat her with same amount of respect and they do (even though they have no magazines for women in the sitting area... which she has now taken it upon herself to correct with each visit! Let there be Women's Day for all!). Pricing is reasonable and the service is excellent. Having the owner on site, dedicated and actively involved in the business is a plus!

Elm Motors has always treated me well, honest people, what better compliment can someone give. I once had a transmission problem and after two days of investigation Elm sent the car to a transmission expert who could not diagnose the problem. When I was called in I was told nothing could be done ( short of major work on an old car with a minor problem)and because they could not fix it that there was no cost! I was amazed that they did not charge for their time. My wife and I have been back many times over the years with many different vehicles and have always felt we were treated honestly.

I have had Elm Motors work on my vehicles, foreign and domestic, since 1980. They are trustworthy, good mechanics who charge a reasonable rate for their services and do a great job. Brett and his staff are great! I have never been anything but absolutely pleased with their service!
