I took my 1997 Toyota Tercel in for a 35,000 mile tune-up, and I'm extremely happy with my experience with AMW and its owner, Tony. The shop completed the full inspection and did all the necessary repairs, including replacing filters and so on, in a very timely manner--and they declined to replace parts when it wasn't necessary--and they were very friendly, professional and straightforward. The cost was right, too--very reasonable. This was my first time at AMW, but I'll definitely go back there for future repairs. I should mention that, for what it's worth, on my cab ride to the shop, the driver reported that he picks up people from AMW frequently and that they all have good things to say about it. Highly recommended.

Obviously experienced, car-loving lot. Not the very cheapest, but it's the money worth paying and is always less than the dealer's highway robbery.

there was a repair, l believe a water pump, they weren't
sure about the need, l had no idea. they insisted l not pay
until we confirmed the pump had been the problem. the
determing factor a four hundred mile family road trip. a
month later we returned
the pump as well as the volvo held up the car guys were paid
an l haven't strayed from these guys since, well maybe
once,or twice. maybe it was the volvos, but the mechanic
always seemed to know just by listening where the problems
were. he's always been a guy i've trusted to do the right
thing.

I am a twentysomething female with a high-pitched voice who sometimes wears
pigtails. In my experience, this has not always resulted in mechanics' treating
me as if I have brain cells/know anything about cars. Tony's has been the
refreshing exception. They have always been honest about what the problem is
(even when it turns out there was no problem) and have fixed it promptly,
politely, competently, and without recommending that I might want to call my
dad to help me understand all those big words.

Tony is great! I found him through this site and was thrilled beyond belief. Just an unbelievably generous individual, willing to take time to explain what is wrong and give all the options (even the ones that don't make him $). I found him to be very skilled, easy to get a hold of on the phone, and just generally a likeable individual. Works on everything from Subarus to Porsches to motorcycles. Labor is on the pricier side of average and though convenient, the location is not the best so if you're leaving your car, take your valuables with you. As the owner of many previous cars that have needed repair, I could lament that I did not find him earlier, but I choose to focus on the fact that I no longer need to look for a great mechanic!
