They found and fixed a particularly troublesome problem with my daughter's Subaru after she had tried at least three other garages. Also,noticed that these guys have numerous customers with Saabs, classic Jag's or Mercedes-- that made a statement in itself. I've been using them for 7 or 8 years now and have never been disappointed. They've done all the work on an assortment of our cars including Nissans, Saab 900, Saab 900Turbo, Subaru and a Lincoln Continental. Their ability to diagnose problems is very impressive, they clearly explain what they are going to do and don't make a move without asking first and giving an estimate, and they finish the work on time. Walt(father)has been ill the second half of this year and Dave(son)took over without missing a beat. AND, they are nice people.

I came to this shop after a several frustrating experiences with the Chevy dealer, who always seemed to have only one (very expensive) fix to every problem. When the A/C compressor failed, and started making awful grinding noises, the dealer said my ONLY option was to replace all the A/C parts for $1000+. When I took it to Middlebury Garage, they came up with another solution which ended up costing only about $50! I feel confident when I leave my car, that it is in expert hands, and I won't unneccesarily spend more than I have to.

My car broke down on the way to work and I had it towed here on a recommendation. I asked them to take a look at it and tell me what was wrong. A simple diagnostic. I got a call that my car was ready and it was going to cost me over $210! Instead of calling me to discuss the repair they just went ahead and did it. When I told the receptionist that I was not happy, she got snooty and asked me if I wanted to talk to someone about it. I explained to one of the guys that it would take my last dollar to pay for the repair and he did knock the price of the parts off, but he admitted he should not have done the repair without talking to me. I still can't get over how the receptionist treated me like i was the a**hole for being upset about them spending my money without asking me (I was not rude to her by the way). They lost a customer.
