I was happy with the quality of service I got from my Toyota dealer but felt that I was not getting the best deal. I would be asked to get a lot of extra work done that wasnt really necessary, which I came to know later. There was always this nagging feeling that I am not getting the best deal. One of my collegue recomended the Minoccis to me a couple of years back. I gave it a try and have never gone back to the dealer or anyone else for that matter. The Minoccis are friendly, they will sit and explain exactly what the problem is, they donot recommend anything unnecessarily, their quality is top notch, their rates are fair and at the end of the day you feel you have got you money's worth. I highly recommend them.

These guys are charming old world italians who really know their cars. If you are lucky they may even offer you espresso!

I first brought my FIAT 131 to these mechanics in 1976. The FIAT is long gone, but I have never used another shop. The reliability of Lorenzo and Tony's work and their friendly candor have made me a loyal customer for 25 years. They tell me I'm the guy who paid for the comfortable chair in their office! Nota Bene: Sometimes when they answer the phone it sounds like they say "General Motors". Don't be confused, it's them!

Tony and Lorenzo are brothers who came to the US from Italy about 20 years ago. These guys love cars. They've been working on our cars since we moved to the New Haven area about 20 months ago. In that time they have worked on 4 cars for us: a 1986 Saab 900s 5 sp 3Dr, a 1991 Mazda LX Protoge 5 sp, a 1993 Saturn SL2 5 sp, and 1995 Mercury Villager GS. They are always polite and courteous. They are very conscientious about describing what they find and giving accurate estimates of the repair costs and they complete their work in the estimated time. They helped us determine when it was time to give up on a car (the 1986 Saab 900s) and sell it. They also helped us buy the Villager by checking it out and giving their estimate of what would be a fair price given the problems they found (they were right).

We were recommended by a good friend to give these guys a try over 10 years ago. Not only have we trusted them with our vehicles for repair service, we have purchased 3 quality used VWs at great savings. We have found them to be upfront with their diagnosis and resonable with their prices. We now have a 4 car family which are all serviced at Europa. During our long relationship with Tony and Lorenzo we have recommended their services to our neigbors and friends with confidence. I would highly recommend anyone in need of quality repair service to visit or call. You will have your auto serviced by the owners -in an old fashion neighborhood garage - sometimes with Italian opera music playing or World Cup soccer on the Satellite TV. P.S. If you are looking for a good used car, they'll find it.

Our relation to the brothers Minocci goes back nearly 20 years, when upon arriving to their shop with my 246 Ferrari, Tony's first verbal comment to me was, "The car is beautiful, but the windshield wipers are about 1/2 inch too long." I knew right then that I was in capable hands. Since that time, Europa, and only Europa, has serviced all of our vehicles. These included a Cosworth Vega(!), Audi GT, VW Scirocco, Audi 80 Quattro, VW Jetta GLI, Lexus 250, 1966 Corvette, BMW 318ti, Subaru SVX and probably a few others I have forgotten. They have performed nearly every type of repair possible along the way to at least one of these vehicles, from complete engine rebuilds to interior trim repair, each time with precision, caring and professionalism. Whenever possible, I recommend them to locals in need of car repairs and all have remarked favorably on the service. Secret Bonus: You can get Formula One info direct from Italy if you ask the right questions.

Tony and Lorenzo saved my butt! They're fantastic..... knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic, and able to put you at ease in the face of automotive catastrophe. I was driving from NY to Boston (where I live), and on the Merritt Parkway the timing belt on my Audi A4 broke. Not knowing the area, I called home, had a friend search these very mechanics files, and had the car towed to Europa. The damage was disastrous -- bent valves, broken pistons, etc. necessitated the replacement of the engine... for many thousands of dollars. At my request, Tony and Lorenzo waited patiently, with the front end of my car totally dismantled in their garage, for almost two months before making the repairs while I went back and forth with Audi about whether they'd reimburse me (which they ultimately did.) I imagine that other mechanics would freak out over having a car sitting around their shop for so long. After installing the new engine, they even kept the car another two weeks to iron out a few performance wrinkles. The car sounds and runs better now than ever before. Tony and Lorenzo went far above and beyond the call of duty to find particular parts and keep detailed notes on expenses to help me document my case with Audi. They are real pros, with a spotless shop and enthusuasm and great car stories to spare. If I lived within striking distance, I'd use them all the time!

These guys are honest and competent. They worked on my 2000 Subaru Outback. Being a woman, I really appreciated their patience and time they took to explain everything to me. Their prices were fair. I used them for regular maintenance (oil changes) as well as major work (exhaust system replacement, timing belt). They were not intimidating. They were very prompt with the work and always gave me rides back and forth from New Haven. I appreciated their personal service so much after the impersonal (and rip off) experiences I had with the dealer where I purchased the car (Dan Perkins).
