Dave Rose (owner) owns a Honda and has been able to explain everything
'Honda' to me. Excellent advise and great help. I have a 2002 Civic and they are
the only ones to have ever worked on it. At 110,000 it's still going strong!

I took my daughter's car in prior to a cross-country trip.
The car was running well, but they found almost $3,000 worth
of needed repairs. They claim that it took 11 hours worth
of labor to do a half-shaft that had a broken boot, a
steering rack that they said had a leak, a brake job, a few
other minor repairs, but my four visits to their shop during
the two days did not indicate to me that they were working
on the car the whole time, so their labor fee seemed
excessive. They broke part of the muffler during the repair
and did not offer to fix it; I had to go a neighboring town
to a dealer to get the donut (yes, there is a part in the
muffler pipe called a donut) for them to put in, which they
did, but they seemed willing to let me drive off with a
leaking muffler pipe that was their fault. Now I just got a
call from my daughter that the power steering has failed;
could be coincidence; they say their guarantee is only local
and are not committing to anything yet if the rack they
installed is faulty. We'll see.
When I asked the owner why his mark-up on parts was so high,
he told me his business consultant told him he had to charge
that much to make enough profit. I think generally they do
a good job, but watch your wallet and compare prices if you
can. They do communicate well; the owner is hands-on and
works in the shop, and the assistant who answers the phone
and your questions seems knowledgeable. They seem to have a
good local reputation, so my experience may have been
unusual, but just seems that I didn't get much for my $3K.
