Finally, a shop that is honest to the point of charging below the qouted price if the job didn't require it!!! I LOVE THESE GUYS!

Gary has got to be the most honest mechanic I've EVER dealt with. Previously, I had a car that would not do the same problem with him at his shop as it did with me on the road. Numerous times, he would spend time trying to diagnose the issue, however, if he didn't find anything immediatley wrong or didn't complete any acutal labor...he never charged for his time. He would always say, "You can pay me when I fix something." Now that's rare, indeed!

Because they are less than a mile away from home--and
because of the previous customers' comments--I took in my
2000 Mazda 626 for new brakes, which the local dealership
told me the car needed. The dealership quote was more than
$100 higher than Gary's quote (no surprise there, huh?). I
had also asked to have the windshield wiper spray lines
flushed out and had mentioned an occasional squeaky noise
from the back when going over bumps when I first start out
in the morning. After Gary had inspected the brakes (front
disc, rear drum) and rear springs and shocks, he found
absolutely nothing wrong, and the brakes did NOT need to be
replaced. The discs were fine and there was still plenty of
"meat" on the rear pads. He and another mechanic even took a
couple of test drives to test the braking function and to
listen for the squeaky noise. Of course, the noise didn't
happen for either of them on the test drives, and Gary
offered to take another test drive right then and there at 6
p.m.! He told me to swing by anytime the noise happens
again, and he'll dig a little deeper. When I asked for the
bill, he told me he doesn't charge for inspections. He said
he hadn't fixed anything, so he wasn't going to charge me
for anything (not even the washer fluid line flush). I had
to brace myself on the counter; I was dumbstruck (in a
really good way!). Gary's shop offers unusual ambience and
mascots in the forms of parrots (Lucy and Stuart) and a dog
(Milly, the sweet golden retriever). Gary has gained a new
and forever faithful customer.

Great Shop, great location, great people!
I felt confident and happy after they checked over my PT
Cruiser. I know nothing about my car but they didn't even
make me feel like an idiot! That was pretty nice.
And, knowing that I didn't know anything about my car they
didn't even take advantage of that. Gary doesn't charge for
work he doesn't do. If your car don't need it, he don't do
it. And he'll let you know honestly and clearly what he did,
what it looked like on the inside, and that you're in good
shape!

A friend of mine recommended Gary over 10 years ago and
I've been taking my car(s) ever since; this is really
saying something because I live near downtown which is
about 15 miles away. I even stopped taking my car to one
of those quickie oil change places because I get honest
information I can trust from Gary all the time. It's worth
any hassle (and it's really not a hassle anyway) getting my
car to his shop because I know he's honest, reliable, quick
and thorough.

These guys are great. They fix it right the 1st time, and they are within walking
distance of my house. I can take a car over to them, drop it off, and walk back
when it's done. They have great advice on preventive maintenance, and let me
know what to do now & what to wait to do later. Even the local tire shop guys
recommend these guys for anything the tire shop can't handle, and the tire
shop guys go there, too. What a relief to find a trustworthy repair shop.
I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Saw the reviews here and on Angie's list. New to the area and no idea where to turn when my poor old Honda wouldn't start. Motor club couldn't find a tow truck. Gary found me a tow, replaced my starter, and had the car ready to go in less than 6 hours, tow included. Great. I'll be back!
