We have had this mechanic (shop) work on both our Honda Odyssey, and Subaru Legacy. They have performed not only regular ongoing scheduled maintenance, but also when repairs were needed. They have always been EXTREMELY honest, sometimes not doing work as it was not fully needed, or could be left until a later time. A number of times they have checked out a problem or noise for me and never charged me for their time or effort. While their prices are not discount, they are fair for the work performed, and I feel that my cars have lasted much longer due to their expertise and commitment to excellence.

Put Not Answered/Don't know because I never seen them screw things up. I needed my Catalytic Converter replaced and took it to them. Dale refused to replace it because there was a recall at Honda. When I took the car to Honda they said that there wasn't a recall and wanted $1300 to replace it. I said no thanks and took it back to Dale. Dale then again refused to change the converter and even gave me the recall number which I took back to the Honda dealer. The honda dealer then agreed there was a recall and replaced the converter at no charge.

My mom's 2001 Toyota Rav4 automatic started stuttering and had trouble finding a gear when starting from a full stop. Another mechanic examined the car and told her nothing was wrong. When I took the Rav4 to Alternative Automotive, they quickly called me and informed me about a known issue with the ECM. Unlike many mechanics, they did not tell me it needed a new transmission. They suggested that the ECM be replaced first, because, about half the time, that was all that was needed. Thankfully that was the case for us.

We have taken all our Hondas to Dale at Alternative Auto Care for 12 years now. They have never once tried to perform any unneeded service, and on several occasions, they informed us of recalls that can be performed for free at the dealership. Great service!!!

The guys at Alternative Auto Care took care of a stalling issue I had for 9 months. Two dealerships inspected this issue several times and could not find the issue. They kept my car three days until they could reproduce the issue. The dealership would not even keep my vehicle overnight.

I have taken several of my vehicles and my family members' vehicles to Dale and his staff at Alternative Auto Care for over 10 years. Recently, I had any issue with a wheel bearing that was replaced 3 years ago by Alternative Auto Care. The wheel bearing was out of warranty by 2 years and almost 20,000 miles. Dale explained that this wheel bearing should not have failed within this time and replaced the wheel bearing under warranty. This is one of many reasons we continue to tell all my friends and family about these guys.

I took my car to this shop for several years for routine maintenance (oil changes, etc.), and never had problems. Work was done on time and at very reasonable prices. One day, my car began making very loud and potentially expensive to repair noises. Fearing the worst, I took it into this shop, expecting a repair bill of hundreds of dollars, if not more. When they diagnosed the problem, they found that the problem was actually a very minor item, that they repaired for only $50, materials and labor. They could have easily done that work, but charged me for much more, and I never would have known the difference. But instead of taking advantage of me, they earned my repeat business. And besides the great work, they offere either a FREE Shuttle service, or a FREE Loaner, even if only needing an oil change. That makes the convenience worth more that can be money can buy.

I have taken all my vehicle to Dale and his staff for more than 18 years. I will not take my vehicle any were else. Dale now services my son's vehicles and now my grandchildren's vehicles. Three generations of family. Keep up the great work Dale.

My husband and I have taken all our cars there for years. Dale is a master diagnostician. My husband's Ford Fusion Hybrid was randomly having 8 bells ringing (in 4 sets of 2) like a warning or indicator. Local Ford dealer had it twice for over a week each time and couldn't figure it out. He called Ford Motor Company since they had to have installed something like an actuator to signal something and they couldn't find it. Dale said let me look at it and 14 minutes later he found it was a faulty indicator that had something to do with showing if engine was on electric or gas. $123 later all fixed. My husband is a good writer and told Dale he was going to have Ford pay him back and Dale laughed but Ford did pay, but not for the time lost in their futile efforts. Go to Dale first! They have worked on at least 5 different cars for me and i have often recommended them to others
