I have taken our multiple Volvos to Elmer since 1981. I go to Elmer for all "non-warrenty" work and am consistantly pleased. My only complaint is that he is too conservative. They don't spend my money on things that are not broken or not about to break. (We should all have such a problem.) I have no hesitation is recommending Elmer's Aurora Import Repair. Got a Volvo ... go see Elmer.

I have taken my vehicles to Elmer and his son Jim since 1990. I practically give them a blank check. "Whatever it takes, do it" is my usual instructions to them. I have NEVER felt "hosed" by them. I have a new 2001 S80 and except for the first oil change (which was "free" at the dealer and only cost me $175) have taken it to them also. I have told both Elmer and Jim (and Mary, the REAL boss of the operation) that I hope I die before they do because I will NEVER find anyone else that I truly trust with my cars and my pocket book.

My wife and I have been using Aurora Import Repair since we bought a 1982 Volvo in 1984 (26 years ago now in 2010!). We now also have a 1997. This is the kind of shop where you take the car in, tell them how many miles there on the odometer and then trust them to do what is needed. Never a second thought. If there are alternative solutions to a problem, one expensive and the other cheap, they will explain the pluses and minuses of each path. They even have in the past had an old Volvo in the back yard that they would offer to cannibalize parts from if was appropriate. Once we took up their offer to use the emissions computer from this car, saving us $600. It is hard to imagine a better, more trustworthy shop!
