They have serviced all of our cars. Ron or Bill always call with the news, whether it be good or bad news. I never feel that I am talked down to. Last week I had my daughters car in meining auto for a noise, it was a torn axle rubber boot thing. She was leaving for California the next day and needed the car. They were able to get her on the road that day. I just wanted to thank everyone at meining auto again.

I have been taking my cars to Ron since 1989 and would strongly recommend him and his staff. They are very honest and do absolutely great work.

Ron & Bill are great they are always ready to help and they will research a problem that they can't fix and followup on all repairs. I would recommend them anytime.

I've taken my Mazda sedan in twice, and my Ford F-150 twice. On the Mazda, I was told by a Dealer that I needed brakes on all 4 wheels, for $450. Wanting a second opinion (and not being really satisfied with the Dealer service in general) I looked on the Car Talk site for a closer shop. I took it in and Meining looked it over and told me that I only needed brakes on the front wheels, and did it for $185. I'll never go back to that Dealer again! On my Ford F-150, in addition to standard maintenance, they installed a trailer electric brake controller. They know pickups and trailers which is especially helpfully to me. I had lengthy talks with Ron (the father and owner) and Bill (the son) about servicing my vehicles. It is always hard to know about the quality of what goes on out in the shop (so far I am totally satisfied), but the time they take explaining everything and reporting back to me is probably the most satisfying experience I have ever had in a car shop. From waiting in their front office, my impression of how they interact with their other customers is much the same. Of course, my experience here is limited, but so far everything is A Plus. Check out their website:

Meining is fantastic! Example 1: My '86 Lincoln's alternator died and took my battery with it. They replaced both, but missed some fairly well-hidden damaged wiring. So the new alternator died and drained the new battery all the way down. Meining paid for the tow, replaced the new alternator, fixed the wiring, and replaced the new battery even though it tested good, all for NO CHARGE! Even fixing the damaged wiring, which was new work. Example 2: When shopping for a used SUV, I took one into Meining for a buyer's check. They found dried mud way up high in some nooks and crannies in the firewall, plus oxidation on much of the bare metal, including under the seats! Despite the dealer's much vaunted 125-point inspection and a clean CarFax report, it was obviously a flood vehicle. On the SUV that they did bless for me to buy, they noticed the worn tires I'd missed, which let me get another $500 off the purchase price. That covered cost of the two $90 buyer's checks nearly three times over!

Bill was great at explaining what was required, what was important and what could wait on our "new" used car. For both cars, they provided fast repair, accurate estimates and friendly, honest service. We also called when we needed a collision repair shop and got a referral to a very good local company.

I took my 2003 GMC Envoy in for a $45 oil change and a $50 "maintenance check" in preparation for a 2500-mile road trip. All went well, but I forgot to ask them to look at a dislodged cornering lamp, which I'd popped out of the plastic bumper when I brushed the door frame of my skinny garage. It was hanging down inside the front undercarriage. Bill crawled underneath in their parking lot, but he couldn't snap it back in. So he took it into their shop, ran it up on the lift, and popped it back in. It took him about 15-20 minutes. When I asked him, "What do I owe you?" he said, "No charge." MEINING IS THE *BEST* MECHANIC IN LONGMONT, MAYBE ALL OF BOULDER COUNTY!!!
