I went in to change oil, and, after the courtesy check-up,
I was told that one of my brake lights is out (which I
replaced here) and that my high beams are not working.
After a comment that they were working just fine the night
before, the reply was a shrug with 'they are not working
today'. When I suggested it was a fuse, I was told they
checked the fuse and that's not it, it must be the switch
under the steering column and that they would have to tear
it apart to test the switch (around $300 to do this). I
decided I didn't need high beams that much, and left
without fixing them; once I got in the car, tried the high
beams, they were not working. Next day, when I was
replacing the air filter, I decided to check if it really
is something more serious than a fuse - imagine my
astonishment when I found out that the reason my high beams
were not working is that someone removed the fuse
completely -it just was not there! Luckily, I had a pack of
fuses, and, as expected, once replaced, the high beams are
back on. Bottom line is this Midas location is either
extremely incompetent or, having seen a girl come in,
decided to get as much money out as possible ($300 for a
new fuse, really).

Disagreeable and dishonest. I have always had timely maintenance done at the dealership. I made the HUGE mistake of going here for my 120K maintenance as the dealership couldn't get the maintenance done in time for me to pick up my kids and this was close to camp so I could pick up my kids on foot. The check engine light in my car has NEVER come on in my car until a few hours after leaving here. I came back the next morning hoping they had a small oversight in tightening something. I was then told after giving it another look there was tape on the air intake tube. They then told me they would replace the tube for $70 and not charge me for labor. This didn't pass the smell test with me as the last people who looked under the hood at all were with Colorado State Emissions who passed the car with no issues. Again, the check engine light was also only on hours after leaving Midas. I called the dealership and the part is $40 and the labor is $35. When I called Midas back and told them someone working there had to have damaged the tube they vigorously denied that and said as far as the price they have a price match guarantee. They will not be touching my car again and now I'm out another $75 due to their error. Don't go here no matter how convenient it seems
